These days icons are present everywhere you look. For example the most familiar application is Facebook. You know what task is associated with every* icon on Facebook and it makes you life easier. You know where you are headed while navigating smoothly. The Icon Design field is growing strongly, with a huge thanks to mobile devices and other applications. So if you are planning to do this for a living, it’s not a bad option.

Spending many hours to perfect an icon is not easy, but it sure is fun for icon designers. The following designs were collected from good old Dribbble. Also referred to as the Facebook for designers. We collected some of the most incredible icons, by some of the most talented designers just for your inspiration. The following icons are mobile and desktop based. While browsing keep in mind that most of these were created from scratch in Adobe Photoshop.

Note: All of the images are linked to the designers who made them.

  1. Beautiful collection, pitty you don’t link the images to the designers who crafted them.

  2. Great collection! But you seem to be missing out on the work of one particularly nice (former) design-company:

Some of the icons you showcase even seem to be inspired by Sofa’s work (compare Analog with Checkout, for instance):

  3. Really nice post. Amazing the detail that goes into something so small

  4. Amazing!!! all the icons are really beatiful.

  5. Cool collection, but not linking the sources is quite bold…

  6. Great, but sources would be nice. 🙂

There are, all te images are linked to the original author.

  8. >>>Note: All of the images are linked to the designers who made them.

The images don’t seem to be linked to me. Or is it my browser messing up? Please check your image links please.

  9. Great collection.

I feel pretty honored to be on that list (with my iCloud Icon) with all those awesome and talented designers!

    Cheers from Cologne, Germany,

  10. There are, all te images are linked to the original author.

    Now they are. 🙂

  11. Those are NOT icons. They are excellent ILLUSTRATIONS.

  12. most of these are really beautiful images but only 3 or 4 are icons

  13. It is a nice collection indeed, but they are not icons, they are too complex for an icon. As Flavio said “They are excellent illustrations”. Of course, they can work as an icon if a simplified version is made. 🙂

  14. Nice collection thanks!

  15. These are illustrations not icons. An icon is a diminutive graphics meant to represent a piece of software, idea or a functionality. With few exceptions these are highly detailed illustrations which would make impractical icons because they are so detailed. Shrink them all down to 35×35 p and see what I mean.
