How to Create Effective and Engaging Content
Whether you maintain a Facebook page or a website, if you don’t have interesting content, your viewers aren’t going to stick around. You might feel that you aren’t capable of generating interesting content because you don’t have a creative mind. This isn’t true.

You don’t have to do all of the talking if you include images or videos with your posts. No one likes to read a bunch of text anyway. If you sell a product, when a user visits your Facebook profile or website, they want to see images of your products. This is true whether you own a restaurant or a shoe store. Videos are also useful, as they can give customers an idea of what your business’s atmosphere is like.
2. Be informed.
If you are running a website on mobile technology, make sure that you know mobile technology well. A lot of the time, writing just seems daunting because you don’t know about the subject matter. If you know, for instance, a smartphone’s specifications, you can center your post on that. That’s what your viewers are there for anyway. It’s much better reading a dry, informative post than an exciting post that is devoid of real content.
3. Don’t use words that sound like spam.
Read through your post and ensure that it flows. Anyone who knows anything about content writing is familiar with search engine optimization. Sometimes, the articles you find online are written by contracted writers who know nothing about the content. These posts typically have keywords that are repeated awkwardly multiple times. If your post sounds is too repetitive or seems to contain keywords, you may be discredited by your readers.
4. Post at times when you’re likely to get attention.
If you own a restaurant and maintain a Facebook page for it, you aren’t going to get that much attention if you post at 3 A.M. You need to post when you are likely to get the most views. Similarly, if you own a sporting goods company, and there is a giant game coming up, you can use this opportunity to get attention.

If you aren’t a professional writer, don’t focus too much on trying to emulate content you’ve read elsewhere. This might result in a post with too many unnecessary words. Your readers want you to get straight to the point. If you beat around the bush, they are either going to skim what you write or close out of the window altogether. Keep your content as brief as possible.

SEO, when utilized properly, can be a really lucrative method for your business. There are plenty of SEO tools out there. Find one that works for you and try it out. One thing to remember, as mentioned before, is to make sure your content doesn’t look like SEO content. If you post content that looks like SEO, many users will think that you’re spamming them. This can really hurt your reputation.
7. Know who your viewers are.
You need to write in such a way that you are speaking to your audience. For example, if you own a food delivery service in a college town, your key demographic is likely college students. Try to make posts that college students will identify with. However, in this situation, remember that not writing to a specific audience is just as bad as writing to an audience in the wrong way. If you talk to college students like they are children, they won’t appreciate it.
8. Don’t use too much jargon.
If you use too much jargon, you may end up isolating viewers. You should write to maximize the number of viewers who will understand your content. For instance, if you own a laptop company, don’t go too far into hardware specifications. Sure, a lot of readers will appreciate hardware specifications, but there are also a lot of readers that won’t understand them. Keep your content as simple as possible.
9. Make your post easy-on-the-eye.
It’s difficult to want to read a giant block of text. If you separate your content into chunks with headers and make it easy for viewers to distinguish different sections, you’re going to get more readers. A lot of users skim content before reading it, so they can figure out if it’s worth their time. A block of text is hard to skim and is more tempting to close out of completely.
10. Remember to check for typos!
If you spend a long time writing something, the last thing you want to do is read it over again for grammatical errors. It’s crucial that you do review your content, though. One typo can destroy a reader’s perception of your article. Typos make the author lose credibility and look lazy. Don’t let this happen to you!
