Secrets To Prominent Mind Power
The most important organ in our body is our brain. The mind in each and every one of us has the incredible capacity for thinking, understanding and decision-making. It’s sad to see that many people do not take full advantage of what they’re born with. Creative problem solving is a trait you cannot purchase, and is a priceless thing to have.
Understanding what kind of person you are is an important step to challenging yourself and developing the full use of your brain. The most vital element is the apprehending how your mind works best. This will allow you to figure out which learning styles are best suited to you. You were probably taught to take notes and research a subject. Well here’s a little newsflash, all the other kids who went to school were taught this too.
You often hear about extraordinary people on the news, magazines or any other media outlet. You know why they are unique and successful? Because they think differently (don’t sue me Apple) about life. You need to throw out the wasteful knowledge and develop as a whole person.
In order to work more effectively please understand the two sides of your brain. As you might already know, the right side is creative and the left side is logical. Naturally some people have a specific side that is more dominant than the other. Let’s take a quick look at this matter:
People whose left side is more dominant are most likely to:
- Enjoy analyzing details and making lists.
- Process words and numbers relatively easily.
- Process information in a linear sequence easily, taking different elements and arranging them logically.
People whose right side is more dominant are most likely to:
- Process information as a whole more easily.
- See the big picture, and then look at the details.
- Enjoy learning that involves doing, feeling and touching.
- Be aware of spatial dimensions.
- Draw illustrations in color.
- Process information creatively and intuitively, using their imagination relatively easily.
Many great thinkers had balanced sides. If you happen to have a dominant side, work at strengthening and nurturing the unused potential of the less dominant side. This will allow your weaker side to become more effective. In the end this will improve the your overall performance and create a stronger dome.
Strengthen the right side of your brain
If the left side of your brain is more dominant, then it’s time to fix that issue. Here are some useful tips an tricks that will allow you to achieve this goal.
See a bigger picture: Go beyond the details and see the widest possible dimensions
Listen to your subconscious: Whenever you have random thoughts popping up in your head, give them attention. Don’t just let them slide, the least you can do is to write them down. This will happen at the weirdest times like driving, taking a shower, walking and so on.
Take risks: Easy Evel Knievel, not those types of risks. Stop being so cautious an plying it safe. Try to walk to work in a different direction. Experiment with different foods or ways of cooking. Go skydiving, bungee jumping, canoeing or some other type of activity that is rare in your life. Don’t be too reckless;)
Take a break from work: I have this problem currently and I’m trying to enjoy the greater things in life. I extra size and play sports to stay physically active. Remember, a healthy body will develop a healthy mind.
Dream: Stop analyzing information before you go to bed. Throw away your worries and let your imagination run wild. If you can, try to write down your dreams after you wake up. I often found this very difficult to do, but eventually managed to at least write down a gist of what happened last night.
Be creative: Think of imaginative ways to solve the problem you are currently dealing with. Draw it, color it and create it into an illustration.
Strengthen the left side of your brain
Now let’s take a look at the left side. Here are some useful tips an tricks that will allow you to achieve this goal.
Plan Ahead: Think of a task that needs to be completed. Come up with specific steps you will need to take in order to achieve that aim. Put all those stages in the most logical order and attack them.
Become more organized: Get a to-do app and list things you need to accomplish.
Dive into the details: Go beyond the picture. Answer question words like: ‘who?’, ‘where?’, ‘how?’, ‘why?’ and ‘what?’
Train your memory: Purposely set yourself to remember phone numbers, spellings, and names you find difficult to remember.
Become more logical: Work on solving puzzles in your Sunday newspaper. Even if they are easy, you gotta start somewhere.
Long term planning: Set long-term goals and analyse those goals. Write down and work out intermediate steps. They are perfectly realistic and achievable. Visualize them by writing them down on paper.
