Geometry Daily is a Tumblr blog that publishes beautiful geometric compositions. The man behind this awesome blog is Tilman Zitzmann. Tilman is a graphic designer living, working, and teaching in Nuremberg, Germany. Although they look like real paper prints, every design is created digitally with vector software.

These days our lives are full of noise and complex dependencies. Because of this, many intelligent designers strive for simplicity. I think Tilman’s minimal illustrations are a great source of inspiration for designers. Seeing the beautiful shapes, curves, and lines allows you to think different in terms of aesthetics. Business cards are not dead. Having a beautifully designed business card will increase its lifespan. I’ve said it many times before, and I’ll say it again: If I ever receive a halfassed business card, it’s ending up in the trash. People have good taste, even if you’re not supposed to judge a book by it’s cover, most people do. So get used to it.

Giving out a business card is like throwing a boomerang. The only difference is that people who try to cut corners and be average won’t get any replies back. Today we collected thirty-three classy business cards that would most definitely get a call or an email back. They’re well designed and would make me feel bad if I was to throw any of them away. Digital or physical, flyers are an important promotional element for your entertainment venue. Letting people know about an upcoming event is essential. Having low attendance and selling less tickets will hurt your bottom line, so being stingy on advertising is never a good idea. Flyer printing isn’t very expensive either. You can get 1,000 full color (front & back) 4″ x 6″ flyers for about $85.

Designing flyers can be a challenging task. If I receive a half-assed flyer, I will throw it in the trash right away. Today we’ve compiled some amazing and well-designed flyers for your inspiration. The following examples will give you an idea of what attractive and effective flyers look like.

Also before you scroll down, let me give you a small tip from my experience.

Let’s say you’re giving out flyers for Avicii’s dj set this coming Friday at a local club. Prior to handing out flyers to random people, ask them what genre they like. This is so blatant, but people who give out flyers don’t even think about it. They just hold out a piece of paper like a zombie and expect results.

Instead, ask the person walking by what kind of music they like. You’ll have way more conversions and save money on printing if you simply spark up a friendly conversation. Every humans has a built in spam folder, so treat others with respect and kindness.

The entire goal is to have beautiful branding throughout the company.

Every business owner understands that personalized communication emphasizes your professionalism. Showing your customers and clients how far you’re willing to go to stand out, will put a huge smile on their face.

I’m also constantly impressed with companies fashionably carrying out branding across their entire digital presence. By now, you should understand that Internet is the virtual counterpart of your business. Overlooking your self image will hurt you in the long run.

Branding Ascendancy: Fuel Coffee Shop in Brighton, MA.

Fuel is a new “vintage-modern” American coffeehouse that celebrates friendships, inspiration, hard work, and the American “can-do” spirit. To “Ignite your Journey,” they offer custom coffee, better beverages, fresh foods and baked goods.

What caught my attention about this ordinary coffee shop, was the well executed all around branding. Richie Stewart of Commoner Inc, was commissioned to design the branding and packaging for Fuel Coffee. For further explanation on the process, check out the following quote:

“Our goal for the design was to play off the name of the brand and create a concept that referenced the aesthetic of old motor oil cans. We sourced some super shiny, metallic bags to suggest what the material of those cans would have originally been made of.

We did 1& 2 color prints on self adhesive labels with the main logo mark and style of coffee. These were then applied to each bag individually. Not only did this save on cost but it gave the finished product a slightly more human, handmade quality which mirrors the small batch roasting process in which the coffee was made.” - Richie Stewart

The vibe and experience portrayed thought the images really encourage me to take a trip to Massachusetts. I’m a big advocate of the retro and vintage design trend. Even if you’re not in the same boat, I truly feel that the style and execution of Fuel Coffee is worth admiring. Enjoy!

Design & Smile Driven Prints by Ross Moody

While working at an advertising agency, Ross Moody was frustrated with the daily grind. He began screen printing designs as a creative outlet after work. He used the bathroom as a washout booth and printed on a homemade press that was screwed into the coffee table. He would then walk prints to the local FedEx to trim them on their in house paper cutter. After many mistakes, he found the trial and error process quite rewarding and decided to pursue this affection.

Ross started 55 Hi’s in 2010 to make people smile and spread inspiring quotes/ideas via stationery, prints, posters, & greeting cards. Since then, 55 Hi’s has spiraled out of control in the best way possible. Ross obtained countless attention in the design community and till this day continues to produce graphic goodness, tasteful typography, and artful alliteration. Type Against Cancer by Byron Galan

On a daily basis we might get pissed at little unfortunate mishaps like dropping our ice cream, Youtube restrictions, low battery on your phone, and so on. However we don’t stop and think about how many people are currently having a situations that’s 1000% worse than ours. Take cancer as an example…. I’m pretty sure it’s way worse that stepping on a piece of gum with your new shoes. Right? I sure hope so.

Byron Galan runs and manages a typographic/graphic design inspiration website called Betype.co. His mom, Maria Esther, is battling against uterine cancer in a very advance stage. Byron is from El Salvador. Like any average family in this country they run into economic problems like struggling to pay the rent and normal things like keeping food on the table. This shocking news made it very difficult to come up with money for her treatments, since they’re already in debt.

Byron decided to use his skills and create a set of posters to promote his Indiegogo campaign. With this campaign he hopes to fundraise money to help his mom with her treatments. By making a contrast of concepts, he decided to use funny simple icons to capture the viewers attention. Inspiring Vintage Flight Tag Prints by Neil Stevens

Neil Stevens is a one-man studio, creative illustrator, image-maker and graphic artist from United Kingdom. He creates beautiful prints, posters, and illustrations across all areas of technology, art, finance, nature, music, sport, and the environment. He recently found an old set of airline baggage tags, which turned into love at first sight.

Back in the 1950s designers focused on easily recognizable three letter abbreviations of the city destinations. They also had no advertising, avoided logos, and were purely focused on the information needed (no clutter, no mess). He decided to use this awesome find as inspiration, which led him to create the beautiful posters you’re about to witness below.
