Simple and easy to read, and humbly attractive.
Frankly these overstated resumes seem like a really bad idea to me.
Find a nice font, use a nice layout that’s easy to read, mellow color choices, more on the conservative side.
Also, the bad news is that most employers want a regular word file for email attachments. It’s so they can use a program to scan the qualifications.
These fancy resumes would ONLY be good on the first page of a portfolio.

Also, it depends on the market as well. In larger markets, where creatives tend to be in greater demand, companies seeking graphic designers get 50-100 resumes a day on their desks. Again, resumes like those above really make a statement.

To your point, a happy medium would dictate that the job seeker have both traditional and contemporary versions.
