If it has anything to do with money, you just have to get it right. This is an important thought to remember when you’re designing that pricing table on any website. Remember, everybody wants value for their money. They want to know that they’re spending it in the right place, and for the right reasons. An effective pricing table can make any potential customer realize that as you help them look beyond the price and focus more on what they get out of the deal.

Making That Price Count

Money is still money, no matter how you look at it. Even if you’re looking for something of high quality, you will always catch yourself exclaiming, “That much???” when you see those figures. The image of a price tag does not automatically tell a consumer’s brain, “This is the price of a quality product.” All that your brain is going to see is, “This is a high price.”

This is why in designing a price table, the focus must be on the benefits, and not on the actual price. Seeing a huge price tag on anything will only send red flags to the brain. However, strategically listing down the benefits and features that come with the service or product in a way that highlights them more than the price would make the potential client realize that the price is worth it, once they do notice the price.

Strategic Placement

Across different pricing tables you’ll see online, you’ll notice a different approach used on each of them. Some may list the prices in ascending order to build up excitement as the list of features gets longer and longer. Some may list everything in descending order, giving higher emphasis to the high-end offering before anything else. Some may also list the packages in such a way that the middle pricing is given more emphasis, believing in the concept that people may not always go for the highest package thinking it’s too much, and not for the lowest one thinking it may be too little.

The format you use will still depend on your market’s personality and preferences. Dig deeper into their minds and think about how they would react to each approach.
