If there’s one thing that could help you spark up the interest among your target audience, it has got to be the use of testimonials. The sad thing is, they are not being utilized as much today as they should be. Testimonials, when done the right way, can be very powerful tools that will not only gain you new followers, but could turn cynics into believers.

Putting Experience to Good Use

Yes, people know that you’ve been in the industry for 10 years or more, and that you’ve made a lot of customers very happy. But what have you got to show for it? This is what testimonials are for. They are living, breathing proof of your claims, giving you the chance to build a more solid reputation and show people that what’s written in your website is not just generic jibber jabber. It shows that what you claim is true, and you have people to attest to that.

Think of it as trophies that you have received for outstanding performance. You don’t just keep these in your files; you place them on shelves for the world to see. Think of them as those impressive certificates on the walls of a doctor’s office. If it’s your first time there, those certificates are going to impress you enough to believe a lot of what the good doctor has to say. Testimonials are your trophies, they are your certificates. They prove that what you say you’ve done, you have actually done.

Make Them Believe

So how do you use testimonials to your advantage? It’s not unusual to find a few websites whose testimonial pages you would not even trust even if your life depended on it. However, there are also quite a few whose testimonial pages have been designed so skillfully, that there is no doubt at all that whatever these people are saying are true.

Let other people promote your brand for you and speak about the wonders that your service or product has done for them. Collect testimonials from some of your most valued clients and let them show your target audience through their words just how much impact you have had on their lives. These people will connect to your audience in ways that you cannot imagine, allowing your audience to trust your brand even before they can try it out.
