So you wanna purchase a watch huh? Well, You’ve come to the right place.
Watches have been used for centuries to accurately track time and make bold fashion statements. They’re typically worn either around the wrist or attached on a short chain and carried in a pocket. Before you hurry to scroll down and check out the watches we collected, lets travel back in time first.
In the 1920s, men mostly carried pocket watches while women wore wristwatches, originally called a Wristlets. During that time men thought wristwatches were simply a fad, even going as far to say that you’ll catch them wearing a skirt before they’d ever wear a wristwatch. This ignorant opinion changed during World War I.
Soldiers on the battlefield often found the pocket watch very impractical. They decided to attach their watches to their wrists by a cupped leather strap for easy access.
Honestly if you’re on the battlefield with bullets flying in every direction, you don’t have time to fudge around with your pockets. A swift look at your wrist is obviously much more logical and effective.
It’s also believed that Girard Perregaux, a high-end Swiss watch manufacture, equipped the German Imperial Navy with wristwatches in a similar fashion as early as the 1880s, which allowed easy synchronization of naval attacks and firing artillery.
Now that you know a bit of history about watches, let’s discuss their guts. The movement of a watch is usually mechanical, fully electronic, or a blend of the two. Their displays range from analog, tactile, to digital. Most modern watches are also illuminated for easy viewing in the dark. Functions of watches vary vastly.
Some are quite minimal, simply telling you the accurate time, while other go as far as to having a built-in camera, GPS, WiFi capability, microphone, touchscreen, and much more.
Today we gathered some gorgeous watches for you to check out. Whether you’re shopping for yourself, a friend, or a loved one, I’m sure you’re bound find an awesome timepiece. Investing in something that’ll last forever is a smart purchasing decision. Passing a watch down to your son or daughter someday is an illustrious experience.

Time Traveller Watch by Mr Jones Watches
The watch uses 16 landmark buildings to mark the time in different regions. You can read the local time by looking at the landmark building in your city or time-zone. For example, if you’re in London, then you use Big Ben as your hour hand; in Paris you look to the Eiffel Tower, and in New York you use the Statue of Liberty. A pigeon, the universal city dweller marks the minutes.
The Time Traveler Watch uses a 24-hour mechanism, which means the hour hand makes one rotation in 24 hours. This means you read it slightly differently from a regular (12 hour) watch: The upper semi-circle marks the hours from 6am to 6pm.
When the hour hand is pointing horizontal left (9 o’clock on a regular watch) this corresponds to 6am. 12 noon is centre top and horizontal right is 6pm (3 o’clock on a 12 hour watch). The lower semi-circle marks the hours from 6pm back to 6am, with centre bottom marking midnight.
