Remember that first friend you got when you created a new Myspace account? Yes, the one that was slightly turned sitting in a chair. Tom Anderson was the former President, and co-founder of MySpace. Tom left the social network roughly 3 years ago. If you are somehow reading this in the future, you might already know that Myspace was heavily hit by Facebook.

Myspace was partly created, in August 2003, as a reaction to Friendster and that social network’s policy of blocking accounts not using real names. Growth began to pick up after famous celebrities like Tila Tequila started using the service instead of Friendster. Myspace quickly became one of the most popular social networking websites in the United States according to After News Corp bought the company in July 2005, Tom soon found himself being pushed around and being a complete bottleneck on getting things done.

Meanwhile all of this is going on, Facebook’s Mark Zuckerburg has been hustling on evolving his network to a major competitor in social. Users started to jump ship and abandon their gif saturated Myspace page. Anderson said on Facebook in September 2011 that “I left the company in early 2009, and like most of you, I don’t like using it anymore … not a fan of what the new folks have done with MySpace.”

Anderson now says he is “enjoying being retired” and is active on other social networks, including Facebook, Twitter, and Google+. With the pleasure of being retired comes passion. Tom is constantly traveling the world and taking stunning pictures for us to admire. This is the reason I always say, “Work hard now and relax later.” Tom has managed to create one of the best social networks ever, and now he is enjoying/fulfilling his passion for photography.

We hope you will enjoy his incredible photography!
