Search engine optimization (SEO) is the process of improving the visibility of a website or a web page in a search engine’s “natural” or un-paid (“organic” or “algorithmic”) search results. SEO may target different kinds of search, including image search, local search, video search, academic search, news search and industry-specific vertical search engines. The following list is a quick run-down of the most fundamental and easy SEO techniques nobody should miss.
1 – URL
Separate the keywords in the URL with a hyphen. For search engine optimization of the web page, it is better to use the hyphen “-“. This is because it is closer to the programming code of internet pages, and more universally understood.
2 – Emphasis
Insert keywords in the text with HTML attributes underlined, emphasis, italic, etc. This is useful but not essential for positioning in the search engines.
3 – Keywords
Insert keywords in the text of the web page. This is a fundamental factor for the optimization of a web page and, consequently, for its positioning. We need to respect the naturalness of the text, which must remain readable and understandable. You should therefore avoid keyword stuffing. A percentage of correct for the presence of a keyword on a web page varies between 3% and 5%.
4 – Meta
Insert keywords in the meta keywords tag. The meta tag is generally ignored by search engines but it is foolish to ignore the tag since the search engines change the rule very frequently. So it is best to have them just in case.
5 – Relationship
The relationship between the content of the web page and keywords is an SEO factor critical to creating relevance between the website and the keywords. This bearing must also include the links in the web page, because they too are part of the content. If you enter keywords into your text that have little to do with the content then your efforts will have no positive SEO affect.
6 – Description
Insert keywords in the meta description tag. The presence of the keywords definitely helps in attracting more clicks from the Search Engine Results Page (SERP). But has no effect on the ranking in search engines that anyone is aware of (it can‘t hurt to put them in there though).
7 – Domain
Insert keywords in the domain name. This is sometimes important and is not a hindrance in any shape or form. It can be an important factor in SEO on-page optimization of a web page. Very important if someone creates an inbound link using your domain name as the anchor text. Obviously using keywords in your URL is easier. Kinda like a person selling flowers having a page called “flowers”, thereby putting the keyword “flowers” into the URL
8 – Proximity
Check the proximity of keywords. This is a SEO rule that is a very important factor for ranking in search engines. The proximity applies to the titles for the text content. The keywords should be as close as possible to the front of the title, and other keywords should be placed close to the title (in the top 3rd of the page) whilst still allowing readability.
Eliminate, if possible, all terms with connectors and do not include dashes in your keywords unless you are sure that people type in the dash when they search online.
9 – Bold
Put keywords in bold or with a strong tag. It is useful to focus the user on what is important in the web page, but also useful as a technique for optimizing on-page SEO of the page.
10 – ALT
Use keywords in the alt text of the image. This is necessary for indexing by the search engines – especially if the pictures are links. In addition to the alt text, also add <title> to images.
11 – Images
Ensure keyword optimization of images. Enter keywords in title, keywords, comments, etc. However, according to some, this technique does not increase the SEO optimization of your web page, but just the image on its own. This however is not a bad thing because it has an after affect of driving at least some traffic to your page as they search for more pictures.
12 – Position
Take care with the position of keywords in the text. Spiders of the search engines reward web pages that position the keywords at the top of the page (the top 3rd of the page is the best).
13 – H1
Use keywords in the title H1. This is important in order to strengthen the on-page SEO optimization of the chosen keyword. Keywords in the titles H2, H3 tags are also an important SEO factor for positioning, even if they have less of an effect than that of keywords in the title H1.
14 – Attribute
Include keyword in the title attribute of the link. This is important for both the positioning of the web page and for accessibility.
15 – Title
Include keyword in the title () of the web page. This is the optimization <span class=”hiddenSuggestion” pre=”optimization “>factor</span> that is most important with on-page SEO for placement in the search engines. In writing the title, it is not to exceed 70 characters, including spaces. Do not enter a mere list of keywords, but to create a sentence. Do not repeat keywords. The importance acquired by keywords depends on their position in the tag–therefore put the most relevant keywords at the beginning of the <title> tag.
