The Walking Dead is without a doubt one of my top favorite shows. I think AMC is absolutely killing it with their shows. Almost every single show they create becomes successful and they’re a treat to watch.
That’s what happens when you have great directors, actors, writers, and costume designer on board. They’ve done a great job of providing quality content and in the end that’s what people truly want.
What I love most about the show is the entire feeling of what’s going to happen next and if I would make the same decisions as the characters. The show is very realistic that way. I often question their decisions, however I end up realizing that their stress level must be through the roof. Just image yourself being in their shoes. Thinking with a head full of worries isn’t easy to do.
What concerns me is our obsession with zombies, post apocalyptic scenarios, and doomsday ideas. I think these kind of concepts have leached onto our brains, and in a sick secretive way, many people actually wish a zombie apocalypse or some sort of outbreak would happen in real life.
You might find this concept pretty disturbing, however I cannot lie. There’s something inside me that wants to experience this.
I do not wish anybody harm or death, I just want to see if I would be able to successfully survive and outsmart others. I know that might sound egotistic, but then again as humans our reptilian brain often takes control. I’m very happy to see that there are outlets for us to experience this.
We currently have many video games like The Last of Us, Day Z, Dead Rising, Gears of War series, Metro 2033, Stalker, Fallout series, Left fo Dead, and Resident Evil allowing us to encounter what it would be like to live without rules, hunt for food, hijack people, be always on the move, trying to find shelter, killing zombies, etc.
Since the show is extremely popular, it has a 2.8 million dollar budget. Per episode. Pretty wild huh? I’m not too positive on the exact number, however I’m pretty sure it’s 2+ million per episode. Seeing this sort of budget demonstrates that the show isn’t going off the air anytime soon.
The fan base for The Walking Dead is massive, which brings me to my next point. I know darn well that there are people just like me who love the concept of zombies and post apocalyptic scenarios. For fans and zombie lovers world-wide we’re happy to provide you with some of the best fan based artworks of The Walking Dead. Enjoy!
