If you aren’t making sites that are SEO friendly, then you might as well quit being a web designer. In addition to paying attention to titles and metatags, you needs to makes sure that the linking structure is smooth and that the flat site architecture is streamlined.
3. Make a Site Mobile Friendly
Smartphones are becoming a widely used gadget for those interested in researching information online. If you are designing sites that won’t pull up on smartphone browsers, you can guarantee that you will lose business. Make sure that all sites you create are mobile friendly as it will not only boost SEO, but it will also help gain the client business.
4. Find Great Media
Websites have long moved past great pictures. Clients want everything from great pictures to song to video, and you better be able to find each of these types of media and be able to incorporate them into your sites effectively. You need to make sure that the types of media used are not only catchy, but can also be uploaded quickly on various platforms to get the best site usage.
5. Test
Companies don’t release products without running them through the gauntlet of testing, and you should do the same. Before launching any website, use visual heat mapping to test your site’s design and check out your actions points. Also be sure to use analytics programs. You want to make sure that your site operates as smoothly as possible.
Designing websites has definitely evolved from the original one page interface. Web designers must keep SEO and social media streams in mind if they wish to create exceptional sites and remain successful while also becoming better coders and better judges of trends. Staying on top in an industry dominated by up-and-coming stars isn’t always easy, but with the right education and know how, any web designer can expect a lasting and highly lucrative career.
