“Inhale the good shit, exhale the bullshit.”

That right there is my favorite quote to remember when I’m struggling with something in my life. It’s not the most eloquent.  It actually sounds like something you would read on a bumper sticker, but there’s truth in it that can’t be denied. And that realness is what strikes me the most. It’s what resonates within me and pushes me to truly let go of things or people that cloud my happiness.

Positivity in Social Media

I think this is the reason why positive and inspirational quotes are everywhere. There are thousands of books and websites that focus solely on quotations and sayings for a happier and healthier state of mind. There’s not a day that goes by without me seeing an inspirational quote posted as a Facebook update. Or a tweet of a positive quote rallying others to stay focused and happy. Tumblr and Pinterest are bombarded with inspirational quotes in intricate fonts and rousing backdrops.

Positivity in Your Own Life

Have No Fear

Everyone has a favorite positive or inspirational quote. This type of optimistic quote can rekindle a passion that you may have shelved for a while. It can spur you to try a lot harder to achieve your goals. When you feel down or emotional, a positive quote can be your source of strength and even amusement. It’s hardly any wonder why speeches or articles of any kind use quotes as an opening remark. Case in point, what I did with this article.

Inspirational quotes are also used to drive a point or push you to take the next step in both your personal and professional life. My definition of success may not be the same as yours, as it should be. Whether it’s personal or professional, each one of us is trying to improve something in our lives. And we need all the motivation we can get to push it. And inspirational quotes, from time to time, can help to alleviate doubts, to be more confident, and to just go for it.

The list of positive and inspirational quotes is long and varied. And while many famous people or world leaders have been quoted for some of the most motivating sayings or one-liners in history, there is something to be said for quotes uttered by our loved ones. So when a family member, a friend, or a colleague said something noteworthy or anything that struck a chord in you, remember it and refer to it when your spirit needs a boost.

Having said that, here are 55 of the best positive and inspirational quotes we all should live by.
