Abraham, as introduced by Esther and Jerry Hicks, is a collection of beings from the non-physical dimension. According to the two, Abraham is of infinite intelligence and is the purest form of love.
Using Esther as a vessel, Abraham shares their sublime knowledge to the world. With her voice, they explain many things, like how people carve their reality through focus, and how all individuals are physical extensions of this non-physical consciousness.
Since 1986, Esther and Jerry have travelled to many places, sharing the words of Abraham to those willing to listen. They’ve also written many books about life, happiness and purpose.
The existence of Abraham may seem strange to many. However, their talks of positivity and control of reality have inspired many individuals to take control of their lives.
They don’t claim to be a religion or cult, nor do they force their words on others. Knowledge-sharing seems to be Abraham’s primary intent.
Source Energy and Reality
The teachings of Abraham-Hicks stem from the concept of what they would coin as source energy. Source energy is similar to the idea of a soul or an inner being.
According to them, before a person is placed into their physical body, that person exists as source energy first. Even in physical form, a person is dominated by this source energy in the form of consciousness. Source energy tells people whether they’re flowing with the source, in the form of emotions.
According to Abraham, negative emotions show people that they’re not in tune with life. Positive feelings, on the other hand, indicate that you’re on the right path. They say that source energy can’t be observed with the five senses. Instead, it can be felt through an ever-present sense of well-being.
The focus of their teachings is to find happiness. As people go about life, they create “thoughtways” or paths of joy. Abraham says people should follow these paths to have fulfilling lives. Abraham’s teachings also say that in the physical realm, you can carve your reality through thought and attention.
They say that any desire can be fulfilled; the only requirement is your focus. Any physical manifestations of desire—such as money, love, fame, or relationships—are all byproducts of finding joy.
They tell people to focus on positive thoughts and emotions. Positive thoughts lead to positive experiences, while negative thoughts manifest negative experiences.
This suggests an optimistic way of viewing life. Albeit a little far-reaching, they say that a person can get sick by their own negative thoughts. However, Abraham implies that sickness can be cured by thinking it away.
Finally, they say that individuals are immortals. Upon death, the source energy merely returns to the non-physical plane. Individuals depart their body without illness or pain, and life doesn’t end when the physical body dies.
The Law of Attraction
The teachings of Abraham-Hicks revolve around the idea of the Law of Attraction. The Law of Attraction is a New Thought philosophy that started in the late 1800s.
Like the teachings of Abraham, the Law of Attraction is a mind-conditioning technique where one tries to replace limiting or self-destructive thoughts with affirmations and empowered visualizations.
This conditioning alters the state of a person’s mind and helps them positively deal with situations, increasing the likelihood of success and the feeling of achievement.
The origins of this philosophy can be found in the biblical and Hindu text. There are instances in the bible where people are told to ask for something in prayer, and they will receive it. There is no scientific basis to this law, however. It has been regarded as a pseudoscience.
Media and Other Workshops
Esther and Jerry Hicks have published many works related to the teachings of Abraham. Their most famous book is The Law of Attraction (2006). They started creating books back in 1988, with their first one titled A New Beginning: Handbook for Joyous Survival.
Their most recent publication is titled The Essential Law of Attraction Collection. It’s a compilation of their three best-selling books: The Law of Attraction, Money and the Law of Attraction, and The Vortex.
You can also find the teachings of Abraham on YouTube, where Esther and Jerry Hicks post Abraham-Hicks materials. They have a lot of content for people to watch and listen. Most of their followers listen to the positivity of the teachings as they sleep.
Esther and Jerry have been very active in spreading the teachings of Abraham. They have countless workshops all over the US where people gather to hear Abraham’s words in person through Esther. They also plan three cruises every year where people can experience Abraham’s teachings.
