Who is Bert Kreischer?
Bert Kreischer is an American comedian who is famous for his shirtless comedy sessions that leave everyone laughing and cheering hysterically. Although he started as a standup comedian, he has built a laudable career as an actor, producer, reality TV host, writer, and podcaster. You might call him a Jack-of-all-trades, but Bert is proving to be a master of his art, with his fans growing nationwide.
In reality, Bert’s comedy career is an interesting spin-off of his personal life. As an undergraduate at Florida State University, he was arguably the best partier in town, famous for showcasing the much-needed recklessness that characterized college parties. Incidentally, the Princeton Review in 1997 marked his school as the #1 top party school in the United States.
In one interview, Bert described his shirtless performances to encourage people to drink more. In fact, in his days at Florida State University, he didn’t stop at being shirtless. There were times when Bert got either half-naked or fully naked in a bid to surge the energy at a party!
He started his journey of standup comedy at a Tallahassee nightclub called Potbelly’s. People loved him quickly, owing to a blend of his fantastic humor and personality.
In no time, Jason Steinberg, an agent in New York City, saw one of his videos and invited him to visit and watch some comedy shows. That was how he ended up working the door at the Boston Comedy Club, New York.
In his progression to fame, Bert began to show us what he’s really made of. He featured in movies and short films and competed against some prominent comedians in a reality tv series parody. Bert’s comedy specials were also aired nationwide, and his podcasts have turned out to be a huge deal. The numbers testify!

Early Life and Career
Bert Kreischer was born Albert Kreischer on November 3rd, 1972, in Tampa, Florida. Albert Kreischer Snr was a real-estate lawyer while his wife, Bert’s mom, pursued a career in early childhood development.
His parents enrolled him in a catholic school, Jesuit High School. After graduation, he decided to further with a college degree. He applied and gained admission at Florida State University, where he majored in English and joined the Alpha Tau Omega fraternity.
Kreisher’s ride to the limelight started in 1997 when the Rolling Stone magazine dubbed him “The Top Partier at the Number One Party School in the country.” In their story, they published a six-page article that x-rayed his wild partying and debaucherous lifestyle on campus. It was titled “Bert Kreischer: The Undergraduate.”
As typified in Bert’s life and career, famed Director Oliver Stone caught wind of the magazine article and optioned the rights to Bert’s story. Although the director received several scripts to develop as a film, none held enough promise for the director, who eventually returned them.
However, in one of the scripts, which a writer later sold to National Lampoon, the writer had changed Kreischer’s name to “Van Wilder”; a move that denied Kreischer any dime from the film proceeds. The title role was played by Ryan Reynolds, who, interestingly, piloted his acting career with that lead role.
Three years later, Kreisher’s standup comedy brought him to New York City, where he got a job at a Comedy Club and was later offered a sitcom role by Will Smith‘s production company.
In 2001, he appeared on two screen projects, Prepare to Meet Thy God and Life with David J. He subsequently guest-starred on The Shield and featured on National Lampoon Live: New Faces – Volume 2. Afterward, Comedy Central animated one of his stories.
Towards the end of that decade, Kreischer stepped things up with his 2007 Alpha Mail
movie feature, a 2008 reality series competition, and a 2009 release of his debut comedy special–Comfortably Dumb, which aired on Comedy Central.
From 2011 to 2015, Kreischer’s TV appearances boomed. He appeared on Rachael Ray, Jimmy Kimmel Live, Lights Out with David Spade, Comics Unleashed, The Kelly Clarkson Show, Conan, and This is Not Happening, which happened to be one of his most iconic releases. He also hosted “Trip Flip” on the Travel Channel in the same period.
Kreischer’s second comedy special, Machine, was released in 2016. Subsequently, Secret Time and Hey Big Boy followed as Netflix releases in 2018 and 2020, respectively.
For Kreischer, podcasts are a means to express his personable self. He hosts and co-hosts three popular podcasts; Bertcast, 2 Bears 1 Cave, and Bill and Bert. He has also appeared as a guest on several acclaimed podcasts.

Lessons From the Life of Bert Kreischer
Do you, and watch the world adjust.
Bert Kreischer is a classic example of a man who understood himself well enough not to be bothered by the opinions of others. Certainly, as an undergraduate student of a prestigious college, his social antics would come across as foolish and immature to others.
Yet, Bert mastered the skill of being comfortable with himself, despite the ugly labels that others associated with him. He made zero attempts to fit into the ‘serious’ college student box. In the end, it worked pretty alright for him! He is a happy person today, as you too can be if you learn to overlook the naysayers.
Go Shirtless!
For Kreischer, taking off his shirt puts him in the right frame of mind for his stand-up comedies. Think about how this might apply to you too. In your case, it might not be a literal shirt, though!
