We carefully selected the top horror films just for you and included a variety of different options. From the old classics, space horrors to mask-wearing crazies there is something on our list for everyone.
1. House Of 1000 Corpses (2003)

In 1977, four teenagers take to the road. Hoping to write a book about unusual roadside attractions, they are excited to learn about a madman, Dr Satan, who was hung locally. While driving to the location where he was hung, they get into car trouble. Luckily, they meet a girl called Baby who takes them to her family’s home.
But Baby’s family is deeply disturbed and soon, the four friends are plunged into a house full of horrors from which no victim before them has ever escaped.
2. Halloween (2007)

Michael Meyers is a disturbed 10-year-old. One night he snaps and murders his older sister and several other people. Committed to an institution, Michael grows up in near-isolation and becomes obsessed with killing and wearing masks.
In this horror classic, fans are treated to Michael’s rampage as he breaks free from the institution as an adult. He is obsessed with finding his surviving sister and kills everyone who gets in his way.
3. Halloween II (2009)

In this slasher film, a year has passed since Laurie shot and presumably killed her psychotic brother Michael. The teenager is trying to live a normal life but Michael is determined to reunite with his sister, driven by hallucinations of their mother telling him to find Laurie.
As Michael returns to town on Halloween night, Laurie begins to see visions of her brother’s past and finds herself compelled to re-enact the horrors that he had committed. When the siblings finally meet, the bloodshed makes it hard to tell which one of them is the true psychopath.
4. Aliens (1986)

Ellen Ripley is rescued and resuscitated after sleeping for 57 years inside an escape shuttle. Nobody believes her story about the deadly extraterrestrials that had killed her crew and forced Ripley to destroy her ship – but one detail catches the attention of her employers at the Weyland-Yutani Corporation. Their colony has gone silent on the exomoon LV-426, the location where Ripley claims alien eggs are onboard an abandoned ship.
Ripley joins a team of Marines sent to investigate. They find the colony destroyed by the same aliens that slaughtered Ripley’s crew. The battle to survive pits her against the ferocious predators and her employers, who want the eggs for biological warfare.
5. The Shining (1980)

By the time Jack Torrance takes a job as a winter caretaker of the rural Overlook Hotel, his wife and son are already on edge. Jack has a history of drunken violence and a staff member tells the boy, Danny, about the previous caretaker who murdered his family and tells the boy not to enter a certain mysterious room.
Their worst fears pale in comparison to the terror that unfolds as the hotel seems to influence Jack back into his past alcoholic violence but this time, he is hell-bent on murdering both Danny and his mother.
6. The Lords Of Salem (2013)

In Salem, Massachusetts, Heidi is a DJ at a local radio station and a recovering drug addict. One day, she finds a box containing an album from a group calling themselves “The Lords.” While at home, she listens to the record and experiences demonic visions.
Convinced that nothing is wrong, Heidi plays the record at the station and the music has a strange effect on the women of Salem. But when the band comes to town and host a concert, a terrible curse is about to unfold in Heidi’s life – one that had prophesied her as the mother of the antichrist.
7. The Blair Witch Project (1999)

This is the movie that kicked off the “found footage” genre and it also earned its place as one of the films that pushed the horror movie up a notch. The story follows a group of young people who decide to document their search for the legendary Blair Witch in the woods in north Burkittsville, Maryland.
Following tales of murders and people who vanished in the woods, they visit the supposed areas where the crimes had occurred but at one point, they become lost and strange things start to happen. In true slow-burn fashion, the tension and horror they experience reach unspeakable levels until they, too, disappear.
8. Suspiria (2018)

In 1977, Susie Bannion believes that she’s hit the big dream after she is accepted into the prestigious Markos Dance Company. But not everything is what it seems. During one rehearsal, a classmate openly accuses the matrons of being behind the disappearance of one of the dancers and that they are witches.
When this girl vanishes as well, Susie reads her journals to search for clues. This plunges her into a horrifying ancient secret that entangles Susie in a dark world of rituals, covens and murder.
9. A Quiet Place (2018)

When Earth is invaded by blind aliens, they swiftly devastate humanity. One family manages to survive by doing everything they can not make any sounds.
The Abbotts live in the middle of the forest and after a tragic loss, they try to piece their lives back together best they can. But when a new baby arrives, its cries set off a terrifying chain of events that either threaten to destroy the Abbots or reunite the broken family.
10. The Lost Boys (1987)

Michael and Sam Emerson move with their mother to go live with their grandfather in a small town called Santa Carla in California. They soon notice that the town has a lot of missing person flyers. Michael becomes distracted by the urge to join a local biker gang in order to get closer to Star, one of their beautiful girls.
But the brothers soon realize that the gang are vampires preying on Santa Carla’s inhabitants. Worse, they have infected Michael, prompting them to join forces with local vampire hunters to cure Michael and stage a final showdown with the bikers.
11. 30 Days Of Night (2014)

In Alaska, the town of Burrow is about to enter 30 days of night. A stranger disables their communication to the outside world and soon, the townsfolk are running for their lives. A pack of vampires are using the month of darkness to pick the humans off one at a time. Against all odds, a small group of survivors are desperately surviving the countdown to sunrise.
Based on a graphic novel, you can look forward to epic scenes, horrifying twists and a tight pace that will keep you white-knuckling it to the end.
12. I Am Legend (2007)

A deadly outbreak sweeps through Earth’s population after scientists botch an attempt to genetically adapt the measles virus to become a cure for cancer. U.S. Army virologist LTC Robert Neville loses his entire family during the chaotic evacuation of Manhattan and as the years pass by, Neville lives in the seemingly empty city unsure if there are any other survivors.
The only other inhabitants are Darkseekers, infected humans who look like albinos and behave like vampires. Neville spends his time catching the deadly creatures and doing experiments on them to find a cure. His mission changes profoundly when he meets two immune survivors and the pack of Darkseekers who hunt them.
13. Bird Box (2018)

Pregnant Malorie Hayes is visiting her doctor for a routine checkup when the world changes in an instant. Mysterious entities appear and whoever sees them immediately commit suicide. Malorie makes it to a safe house where she holes up with a group of survivors and they carve out a routine to go on with their lives.
But when they open the door to the wrong person, tragedy strikes and Malorie, along with Tom and her two children, hide for five years in severe seclusion. One day, they receive a message giving directions to a safe community and the family embarks on a perilous journey in a desperate bid to leave the entities behind.
14. Quarantine (2008)

When reporter Angela Vidal and Scott Percival, her cameraman, stay at the Los Angeles Fire Department for the night all they expect is to film are a few call-outs or even a quiet night at the station. But when they accompany two firemen to an apartment building to investigate screams reported by the landlord, things go wrong in a terrifying beat.
A mysterious rabies mutation is infecting the building’s residents, causing them to attack, kill and even eat their victims. Angela and Scott are quarantined inside with other survivors and while fighting for their lives, they also discover the terrible truth about the so-called Doomsday Virus.
15. The Crazies (2010)

Sheriff David and his wife Judy, who is a local doctor, cannot explain the seemingly random acts of insanity popping up in their town of Ogden Marsh, Iowa. But after David discovers that a military aircraft had crashed in a nearby river, he starts to suspect that something in the plane’s cargo had contaminated the town’s water supply.
David and Judy quickly realize that when the military comes to clean up a secret mistake, they sweep everything under the rug – even innocent civilians. To survive, the couple faces lethal craziness from the infected and an official order to shoot everyone living in Ogden Marsh.
16. Cabin Fever (2002)

A hermit living in the woods becomes sick after he catches an illness from his dead dog. But when he tries to seek help from a group of spring-break students partying at a cabin, they accidentally kill him. One of the students, Paul, watches as those around him succumb to a mysterious disease that corrupts their bodies and minds. When he tries to seek help in the nearby town, several people try to attack him.
After he finds the hermit’s body floating in the reservoir, Paul realizes that the contaminated water is infecting the town. Fighting the growing side-effects of his own infection, Paul tries to warn the town’s Sherrif.
17. Predator (1987)

Major “Dutch” and his military rescue team is tasked with saving a politician being held hostage by insurgents. But they soon realize their true mission is to prevent a Soviet-backed rebel invasion, a job that had been given a few weeks earlier to a group of now-missing Green Berets.
When Dutch discovers their skinned bodies and becomes aware of a strange presence following them, he realizes that his team is being hunted. The invisible predator picks them off one by one as they race to make it out of the jungle alive.
18. American Psycho (2000)

Patrick Bateman has a perfect life. He is a wealthy banker in New York and has a cute fiance. But underneath the perfect veneer, Bateman’s psychotic urges are growing.
When a colleague shows him up, jealousy sparks his first act of random murder. But then Bateman begins to methodically lure victims to his apartment and the body count climbs.
19. 31 (2016)

During Halloween 1976, five young people who work at a carnival get more than they bargained for when they are abducted and told to fight for their lives against killer clowns. The game, which is called 31, will last for the next 12 hours while viewers place bets on their survival odds.
The group is hunted through maze-like rooms by the clowns, all the while being forced to kill their attackers. During the next blood-splattered hours, not everyone in their desperate group will survive their macabre fight for survival.
