Who Is Bruce Wilpon?
Bruce Wilpon is a name that resounds loudly in the American real estate development and baseball industries. Bruce is the son of Fred Wilpon, a renowned realtor and baseball executive who previously served as the principal owner of the American professional baseball team, New York Mets.
The Wilpons are best known for their involvement in their family-run group of companies, Sterling Equities. Sterling is a commercial real estate development company co-founded by Fred and his brother-in-law Saul Katz in 1972. Bruce currently serves as a partner in the company.
But while Bruce Wilpon has made a name for himself in the real estate industry, we cannot exactly say the same about his love life. Here’s everything you need to know about the Brown University graduate’s current and former wife.
Who Is Bruce Wilpon Currently Married To?
Bruce Wilpon is married to a woman named Yuki Ikeda. The couple married in 2014 in New York.
Little is known about Yuki Ikeda’s family or educational background. She certainly makes fewer headlines than Wilpon’s ex-wife.
Although we cannot say for sure, Bruce Wilpon probably learned a few lessons on the significance of privacy from his former marriage. That might explain his decision to marry a lesser-known woman.
Bruce no longer enjoys the fame and glamor that his previous marriage attracted. He has become a lot more elusive and will mostly pop onto the limelight on matters pertaining to his family-owned business.
Who Was Bruce Wilpon Previously Married To?
By now, you must have formed some crazy images of what Bruce Wilpon’s previous marriage was like. So, who was Wilpon’s former wife?
Prior to marrying Yuki Ikeda, Bruce Wilpon was married to Yuki Oshima.
Like Bruce, Yuki needs no introduction at all. She’s the daughter of Kenshin Oshima, a Japanese billionaire and founder of the Japanese money-lending company SFCG Co.
So, how did the journey start for the two former love birds?

Well, it’s difficult to tell when Bruce and Yuki met or the actual date they walked down the aisle. However, their romantic relationship appears to have reached its zenith in 2006, as this is the period the couple reportedly went on numerous adventures together.
Yuki (then 24) and Wilpon (then 27) were christened the golden couple, and aptly so. Not only were they swimming in millions. They also never shied away from splurging their wealth on anything they found fanciful, including their guilty pleasures.
Wilpon and Yuki were trying to build massive public personas around this period, perhaps in their attempts to step away from their parents’ shadows. Predictably, they needed the media to achieve that monumental feat.
The young billionaire couple decided to go house shopping in Europe. It’s then that the public was treated to the first glimpse of their flamboyant lifestyle.
It emerged that Yuki Oshima didn’t fly commercial. I certainly wouldn’t, not if my dad was a dollar billionaire.
The media was also able to document Yuki’s deplorable sense of time. Not only was she almost always late for her flights and appointments. She shrugged it off as though it didn’t mean a thing.
Well, that’s somewhat understandable too (albeit unacceptable). When you’re the only billionaire in your entourage, it doesn’t hurt to throw the rulebook out the window once in a while.
But one interesting thing that emerged from Yuki’s many theatrics was her husband’s embarrassment with her. It appeared Bruce detested her wife’s over-the-top display of fame and was only playing along as the loving husband that he was.
From the Wilpons’ numerous house shopping escapades in Europe, the media further learned about Yuki’s worthless pursuit for perfectionism, especially when it comes to hygiene. Nearly every house she toured had a dirty bathroom and she had to clean the toilet several times before eventually declining the property anyway.
It also emerged that Yuki’s sense for humanity and animal welfare was all a farce. A case in point is when she purported to commiserate with a tumor-afflicted dog and even promised to chain herself to the railings until the dog received treatment. But like most of her previous promises, it was all show and no substance.
But despite all the glitz and glamor, it appears that Bruce Wilpon and Yuki Oshima’s love story wasn’t meant to be. Yuki would later remarry Nicky Scott in 2014. Scott is best known for being a close friend of Prince Harry.
Wilpon and Oshima have remained tightlipped on exactly what caused them to go their separate ways. However, it’s logical to deduce that their ambitions were at cross purposes. Yuki probably desired all the fame and glamor that came with being a billionaire heir while Wilpon had his eyes set on joining the family business as an active participant.
How Many Children Does Bruce Wilpon Have?
Bruce Wilpon and Yuki Ikeda have two daughters. The couple are yet to disclose their children’s names to the public. The Wilpons also has a dog-son known as Reggie and a cat-daughter named Lima.
Where Do The Wilpons Live?
Bruce Wilpon lives with his wife Yuki Ikeda, along with their two children and pets, in Brooklyn, New York.
Other Fun Facts About Bruce Wilpon’s Wife
Bruce Wilpon is not just a successful businessman. He’s also a dedicated philanthropist and enthusiast of Japanese culture.
Did you realize that her current and ex-wife both go by the name Yuki? That only goes to prove Wilpon’s love for everything Japan.
Although Wilpon is no longer married to Oshima, the couple still share one hobby – philanthropy. They’ve supported numerous charitable causes, both as a couple and now as ex-partners.
