Advances in science have made people understand their lives and activities better. One of the most welcome results of increased scientific awareness is the health consciousness of many.
More and more people now are getting mindful of what they eat. Many of them try to go organic, buying only products that they know are from local farms and gardens. This a good development, especially since a lot of illnesses now are found to be associated with the consumption of fatty processed foods.
Those who can’t find the time to prepare the right kinds of food tend to take supplements, such as those from Standard Process, to make sure that their bodies get the nutrients that they need to function well. If you are new to supplementation, look for a brand made of organic ingredients that goes through strict quality control measures.
However, good nutrition is not enough to sustain your health. You also need exercise. But exercise takes so much time, and this is the reason many people shy away from it. We present here some tips that help you incorporate physical activity into your daily routine. This way, you won’t have to break your daily program of action just to accommodate a workout session.
Walk more
Many people in the gym spend a significant amount of time using the treadmill. If you are not familiar with it, a treadmill is basically a machine with a conveyor belt to walk on. Of course, whatever walking exercise you do on a treadmill can easily be replaced by actual walking. So, if you don’t have that much time to dedicate to pure exercise, you can just add more walking into your daily routine. How?
If you are the type who goes to the shops daily, you can walk your way to and from them. That way, not only will you be able to exercise, you also get to save money on gas for your motorcycle or car. Of course, this only applies when the market or the shops that you usually go to are within reasonable distance.
Try gardening
Nothing is more organic than vegetables and herbs that you grow in your own yard. If you are into eating healthfully, then gardening is really one thing that you should try.
Besides providing you a source of organic ingredients, gardening can also give you exercise opportunities. Almost all exercise programs in gyms and wellness centers include stretching and a good amount of squatting. When you take care of plants, you will definitely do these exercises and more.
Bring two bags when you shop, and distribute your purchases evenly between them
There is an exercise called the farmer’s walk, and it basically involves carrying two dumbbells or kettle bells, one in each hand, as you walk to cover a specified distance. You can mimic this exercise on your way home from the shops.
When you shop, be mindful of the weight of the items that you buy. Bring two bags and then distribute the weight as evenly as possible between the two bags. Lift one bag in each hand, and then walk. Doing this regularly will exercise your back muscles and fix your posture.
