On September 28, 2004, she released her first studio album, Goodies, which spawned four singles: And I, Oh, 1, 2 Step, and Goodies, which topped the Billboard Hot 100. The album was confirmed triple platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America, earning it two nominations at the 48th Grammy Awards.
Singles “1, 2 Step” and “Oh” on the album peaked at No. 2 on the Hot 100 and charted within the top five in the U.K. In 2008, she won Billboard’s “Woman of the Year” award.

On October 25, 1985, Ciara Harris was born in Fort Hood, Texas, to Jackie and Carlton Clay Harris. She grew up in Arizona, California, Georgia, Nevada, Utah, and New York because her father was in the army, and they had to move a lot.
After graduating from Riverdale high school in 2003, she was signed by LaFace Records. Her first writing credit was the song “10000 Times” on Blu Cantrell’s debut album, So Blu. She also wrote “Got Me Waiting” for R&B singer Fantasia Barrino’s debut album, Free Yourself.
On September 28, 2004, Ciara released her debut album “Goodies.” The album was No. 3 on the U.S. Billboard 200, selling over 120,000 copies in its first week. Ciara also featured on Missy Elliott’s Bow Wow‘s “Like You” and “Lose Control,” which both peaked at number three on the Billboard Hot 100.
Ciara released her second studio album, Ciara: The Evolution, in 2006. It spawned the hit singles: Like a Boy, Promise, Get Up, and Can’t Leave ’em Alone.
