Now if you’re a Mac user, your device comes in with a pretty solid media player built right into it. I mean it plays videos well, it doesn’t handle all available formats but well, it gets the job done. And what’s better than that eh?
Well if you’re satisfied with just getting the job done. Today’s review isn’t for you. Cause the product we’re reviewing today doesn’t just get the work done. It runs down the competition and leaves you asking for more.
Well if you’re not hyped enough already let’s bring it up a notch, shall we? Let’s talk about the formats you can play on this player. SWF ,FLV ,MOV ,DAT ,M4V ,MKV, WMV, AVI, MP4, MP3, FLAC, MPG is just the beginning of the long list of formats supported.
Remember how your media player or some third party player that you use take time to properly encode full HD videos? Well this one does it with ease.
Should we carry on teasing or should we just give you the name? Let’s do us all a favor and stop playing.
We’re here reviewing Elmedia Player for Mac OS. And boy do we have something.
Get free from the shackles of formats
Elmedia Player literally supports most of the formats known to us currently. And like we said earlier, the ones we’ve mentioned, is just the starting of the whole list. Seriously! We’re talking formats like FLV, MP4, MP3, DivX, AVI, WMV, SWF, MOV and many many many more. Gone are the days where you’d have to go about wasting time converting videos into a certain format so that you could watch them.
With Elmedia player, you can play them all. And we think that’s freaking genius. We’ve all been through the “Unsupported Format” dialog boxes and losing our minds wasting time converting video formats from one to another. This puts an end to it all. And indeed brings one of the key selling points of the media player.
Play every video, the way you like
Whether it be changing the aspect ratio, or simply running the video at a faster speed, Elmedia Player gives you full control over your playback. Just the way it’s supposed to be. Not only that, you can also flip or rotate the video whichever way you like. If you know, you’re into that sort of thing.
Have complete control over your subtitles
Subtitles come in handy when you’re watching a movie in a language you don’t understand, or maybe even when you know it. No one’s judging. The point being, Elmedia Player gives you complete control over your subtitles, be it subtitle delay, or font or size, whatever be your requirement, Elmedia Player can handle it.
Watch online videos, without the interruption of ads
Yes, you read that right. Elmedia player also works as an adblocker. (Honestly, is there anything the media player can’t do?) You can simply open up your video streaming website in the built in browser and bypass all the ads that come in with it.
Whether it be YouTube, Vimeo or DailyMotion. You get to enjoy all your media. Ad free.
You can check out the complete feature set here: https://mac.eltima.com/elmediaplayer.html
Something else you should take note of that Elmedia Player also offers a Pro version of the app, that you obviously need to pay for. And for a price tag of $19.99 you get the following additional features, alongside you know helping the developers who bought you such an amazing product.
- Adjust Video Playback
- Convert Flash to SWF
- Take screenshots in videos
- Enhanced playback and audio settings
- Choose output device
- Stream and cast media to and from AirPlay devices
- Download entire YouTube videos or playlists
- Extract audio from video files and use them instantly
As you probably would’ve judged by the introduction itself, we’re pretty impressed by Elmedia player and all the additional functionality it brings to your Mac. In a market with thousands of media players, Elmedia is a hidden gem, which we feel obliged to bring to you.
Being a free app, you can always try it out and keep it if you love it, but there is also a Pro version with additional features that you can buy for $19.99. All in all, this is a brilliant media player that you must definitely consider, if you’re looking to switch out, or even if you’re not, cause we tried it out. And we’re sticking to this one.
