People can suffer from all kinds of hurt and pain. There’s pain we can see – and there’s pain we can’t.
What do we do when the hurt we feel isn’t something that’s visible to the eye? How can we help others heal from their afflictions? Is there hope for wounds that seem too deep to mend?
Healing from Life’s Struggles
It’s impossible to go through life without struggle. Sooner or later, you will suffer from hurdles, either of your own doing or through circumstances beyond your control. Sometimes, it will feel as if the entire universe is against you. Nothing seems to be going right – not in your personal life or your career.
However, there are also times when you’re on top of the world yet feel extremely dissatisfied or unhappy. You could be building empires and attending brunches all day, but the minute you head home, you’re slammed by emptiness.
Such feelings are valid, regardless of your situation in life. It’s important to remember that each one of us has our own road and obstacles. Your journey will be different from someone else, despite the similarities. Thus, your recovery will be completely your own. Just because one person was able to heal from their past in just a few months does not mean it will be the same for you.
Take all the time you need. Don’t force it. Do what feels right for you: attend retreats, talk to a friend, write in a journal, pray, take a sabbatical, etc. Understand that there will be ups and downs on the path to healing your heart. You could be convinced that you’re okay one day, but then be a total wreck the next. It’s alright – take it one day at a time.
If you need little reminders on the road towards healing, here are some beautiful healing quotes and sayings.
