Have you tried buying YouTube views for your video?
If you’re a tech-savvy person, then you might have heard of this phenomenon. It’s called “buying social proof.” Social proof is a psychological phenomenon where people assume the actions of others in an attempt to reflect correct behavior for a given situation. When a person is in a situation where they are unsure of the correct way to behave, they will often look to others for cues concerning the correct behavior.
This sort of practice is popular to businesses, musicians, and publishers looking to boost their credibility and improve their presence to the online community. I’m sure you’ve heard about people buying fake likes and followers. However, buying fake views on Youtube is actually not a bad idea.
From a personal standpoint, whenever I search for a song I tend to click the result with the most views and positive ratings. This is a natural instinct that most people have, when it comes to watching online videos. You automatically assume that the video is credible based on the views and ratings. You’re basically placing your trust in the hands of others, and for the most part the success rate is pleaseble.
But, how does artificially boosting views and followers help anyone sell themselves or their products? Let us look at some advantages that encourage people to continue with this practice.
Get people to notice
With everything YouTube can offer through its YouTube partners creating great video content, will there be room left for noobs and start-ups?
The truth is, it is very difficult to penetrate a market that has already settled on a preference, making it hard to compete.
Artificially boosting video views helps in turning heads to pay attention to a video that has miraculously acquired thousands of views in a few days. Curiosity is an instinct that people can’t possibly turn off. This natural instinct will propel them to take a good look at your video, which means earning more views that are real in time.
Makes you look credible
What makes you better compared to your competitor? Product features may vary a little and you might lose out regarding that, but it’s not the immediate concern when people are on YouTube.
What would compel people to choose your video over the other guy?
It’s the huge views. Based on the psychology of number concerning fan base, you would know that a company, celebrity or anyone with lots of fans would attract more people to become fans compared to the one with less.
It is that sort of “feel” that a person would prefer a video that many have watched. That is what buying YouTube videos brings.
Provides video authority
Authority cannot be won over through high number of views alone, but it can surely help achieve it. You just have to take three leaps closer to it than when you are naturally vying or begging for views.
However, to do that you have to own the essentials comprised of great video content, digital quality, and entertainment factor. When all these are complemented by huge views, then video authority is highly achievable.
Drive traffic to other videos
Since we have established that high number of views draws people on YouTube, then it is not surprising that a domino effect will follow, provided that you have a great video to show.
When viewers start with one great video, they usually look for other related videos. Just make sure that the next video is yours. How do you do that? Use features that YouTube offers – annotations and description. These are areas on your video that you can place a link to.
Does it really help you sell?
It really depends. The harsh truth is having thousands or a million views doesn’t guarantee sales going through the roof. First, bought views are not real and second, it is entirely up to the quality of your video. Perhaps the advantage lies only within the boundaries of the above-mentioned. It’s ideal to give a freshly uploaded video a kick-start. From then on you have a higher change of the snowball effect. Online exposure is primarily driven by people’s curiosity, so making a sale is up to you, your product, and the way it was presented in the YouTube video.
We understand that this topic might be controversial and is bound to have opposing views. Plus Google, which owns Youtube, is fully aware of this tactic and I’m sure they’re are working hard to stop this problem. In the meantime it’s up to you to take advantage of this tactic, or do things the legit way.
