Whether you’ve got a personal preference for animations or simply love to watch cartoons alongside your little ones, the chances are that Peppa Pig is one of your kids’ favorite programs. Or, you might have simply stumbled upon this show while flipping through the channels and immediately fell in love with the eponymous character.
Peppa Pig is a British preschool animated television series created by Astley Baker Davis and released in 2004. The series follows a lovable, cheeky anthropomorphic female piglet who’s surrounded by a devoted family that includes his brother George, Mummy Pig, and Daddy Pig.
Peppa’s family members wear clothes, live in a yellow house atop a hill, and speak British English. The piglet leads a fairly outgoing lifestyle. He occasionally has friends visit with him, during which they engage in typical human-piggy stuff. And like regular pigs, all pigs in Peppa Pig are noted for their signature oinking sounds.
But beyond Peppa Pig’s cheekiness and amiability, there could be tons of other fun facts you’re yet to learn about this character. For instance, did you know that Peppa Pig can stand shoulder-to-shoulder with Shaquille O’Neal? Well, that’s if a tweet made some three years ago is anything to go by.
In this article, we focus our attention on Peppa Pig’s height. Read on as we put the piglet’s height into a better perspective.
How Tall Is Peppa Pig?
On July 20, 2019, one Twitter user named @Memeulous made a tweet apparently picked from a Google search result, suggesting that Peppa Pig was 7 feet 1 inch tall. That’s about 2.16 meters or 216 centimeters.
This tweet (https://twitter.com/Memeulous/status/1152576553160728577) immediately took the internet and social media by storm. It received thousands of likes and retweets. Not only due to the odd nature of the tweet itself (how many people would concern themselves with the height of cartoon characters anyway)? But also due to the ridiculous assertion that a pig can possibly achieve such towering heights. As a result, many online users took it upon themselves to research Peppa Pig’s actual height.
Surprisingly, a sizable portion of those who reacted to @Memeulous’ tweet agreed with it. One person wrote: “My daughter and I met Peppa Pig a few years ago when she visited America. 7’1″ is probably about right.”
Thousands of others responded with witty memes.
One Twitter user said: “No wonder the screen shook when she jumped in those muddy puddles.”
Another user added: “Imagine a 7’1″ Peppa Pig in a dark hallway chasing you at night isolated.”
How Tall Is 7’ 1”?
According to recent reports by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), only about 2,800 people in the world are 7 feet or taller. That’s 2,800 people against an estimated global population of 7.4 billion, which works out as 0.000038% of the entire population.
Basketball player Shaquille Rashaun O’Neal is probably the most famous seven-footer. However, it’s unfathomable that a regular pig, let alone a piglet, could stand shoulder-to-shoulder with one of the tallest basketballers. Much less considering that a standard domestic pig measures 20 – 38 inches (51 – 97 centimeters) standing up.

Is 7’ 1” Peppa Pig’s Official Height?

But despite the figure you come up with, it’s important to note that Peppa Pig has no official height. And neither are other members of the piglet’s family.
In fact, there’s no official data on Peppa Pig’s other stats, such as her girth or weight. If such information existed, the best place to find it would be on the series’ official website.
However, the apparent lack of data on Peppa Pig’s measurements hasn’t stopped ardent fans of the program from speculating.
What Makes Peppa Pig’s 7’ 1” Height Believable?
At first glance, it’s unfathomable that Peppa Pig would be 7-feet tall. But certain traits associated with the piglet point to an animal with an extraordinary personality and size.
Peppa Pig’s feisty attitude is undeniably different from real-life pigs. Therefore, it’s likely that the series’ creators deliberately intended for him to look larger and act smarter than regular pigs.
How Tall Are Peppa Pig’s Other Family Members?
Suppose Peppa Pig has an actual height of 7’ 1”, it’s possible to calculate the relative height of her other family members.
Expectedly, Peppa Pig’s parents – Mummy Pig and Daddy Pig – are much bigger than her. Most online users have worked out the height of Peppa Pig’s parents and come up with a conservative figure of 11 feet or 335.28 centimeters.

Peppa Pig’s 7-foot-1-inch height might have gone viral on social media. But despite all the rave around it, there’s no official confirmation on the piglet’s actual height or that of her family and friends.
In fact, we probably will never know these details as the series’ creators don’t seem to be in a hurry to reveal them. Perhaps they want to leverage the publicity around the issue to spur interest in the program.
However, many people would hypothesize that a height of 7’ 1” is a little far-fetched for Peppa Pig. A more accurate prediction would be something under 4 feet. That’s especially taking into account the screen proportions shown in the program.
Besides, Peppa Pig World – the theme park associated with the series – place the average height of Daddy Pig at 6 feet 6 inches and Mummy Pig at 5 feet 9 inches. If you work out the height of Peppa Pig based on her parent’s stats, you’d arrive at something in the range of 3 feet 5 inches to 4 feet 0 inches.
How Tall Are Peppa Pig’s Friends?
It appears all the rave about Peppa Pig’s height was mostly centered on the piglet herself and, to a lesser extent, her family members. Internet users haven’t bothered much to hypothesize on the average stats of Peppa Pig’s friends like Suzy Sheep, Rebecca Rabbit, and Danny Dog.
Nonetheless, that doesn’t prevent us from speculating. By and large, the height of Peppa Pig’s friends would depend on the piglet’s actual height.
Peppa Pig World states that Gerald Giraffe is the tallest Peppa Pig member. However, the outlet doesn’t indicate the animal’s exact height, leaving it to the discretion of the series fans.
Now, assume that Peppa Pig is actually 7-foot-1-inch tall. The implication is that Gerald Giraffe would be nearly twice as tall as her (14-foot 2-inch) or even taller. And if we go by the more accurate prediction of 3 – 4 feet for Peppa Pig, then it means Gerald would be around 7 – 8 feet.
Has Peppa Pig Grown Taller Over The Years?
Most animated characters in films and television shows seem to be frozen in time. A case in point is Mickey Mouse and his friends, who never seem to grow older or larger.
However, Peppa Pig appears to be an exception to this rule. Several earlier episodes of the series depict a much smaller Peppa than the character we know today.
