When people say ‘Hump Day’ then generally mean Wednesday. Similar to a camel’s hump, getting over Wednesday, or the middle of the week, means you’ve gotten ‘over the hump’ and you’re on your way towards the weekend.
It can be frustrating to know that it’s only the middle of the week. Particularly if you’re swamped with work, time can seem slow and nothing is exciting. You end up counting the hours until your shift ends. Or counting the days until it’s Saturday again.
But there are things you can do to cope. You can try after-hour drinks with a friend or co-worker. Sure it’s only Wednesday, but who’s to say you can’t enjoy a cold brew in the middle of the week? Window-shopping can also be therapeutic (provided you don’t actually buy anything, of course!). There’s also game night, visiting friends or relatives, or going to the park.
