Inspired by Lev Manovich’s definition of “information aesthetics”, this weblog explores the symbiotic relationship between creative design and the field of information visualization. More specifically, it collects projects that represent data or information in original or intriguing ways.

VisualComplexity.com intends to be a unified resource space for anyone interested in the visualization of complex networks. The project’s main goal is to leverage a critical understanding of different visualization methods, across a series of disciplines, as diverse as Biology, Social Networks or the World Wide Web. I truly hope this space can inspire, motivate and enlighten any person doing research on this field.

What is KISSmetrics? You can use KISSmetrics to increase purchases on your website by visualizing your online sales funnels and figuring out which campaigns are driving revenue and which ones aren’t. Don’t even get me started on how much respect I have for these guys. Apart from their great software, they run a very developmental blog. Their blog provides tips, tricks and resources for analytics, marketing and testing. I’ve learned so much educational content in the past year, all thanks to them.

Visualizing.org was created by GE and Seed Media Group to help make data visualization more accessible to the general public; to promote information literacy through the creation, sharing, and discussion of data visualizations; and to provide a unique resource to help simplify complex issues through design.

Datavisualization.ch is the premier news and knowledge resource for data visualization and infographics. Datavisualization.ch is built, published and maintained by Interactive Things, a design and technology studio based in Zürich, Switzerland.
