Early Life
Jamie Foxx was born on December 13, 1967, in Terrell, Texas, United States, to Darrel Bishop (later renamed Shahid Abdula after converting to Islam) and Louise Annette Talley Dixon. His father was a stockbroker, whereas his mother was a homemaker.
Foxx was raised by his mother’s adoptive parents – Mark Talley and Estelle Marie Nelson. His birth parents played no part in his upbringing and he has had little contact with them.
