It’s the land of ramen and sushi. It’s where people go to spot ninjas and sumo wrestlers. No other place does it like Japan!
In the world of design, Japanese elements have always been a popular inspiration.
There’s something about the Japanese culture that makes everyone boost their creative juices.
After all, Japan is also home to some of the greatest minds in the world, with their anime and robots and everything else in between.
Japan has set an amazing culture of mixing innovative tech and ingenious design, and it makes all other designers drool with envy.
But just because you’re not Japanese does not mean you don’t get to enjoy integrating anything Japanese into your work.
Let’s start out with logo design.
What are some popular Japanese elements you can add to your current (and future) projects?
Japan is known for their ramen, sushi, and a lot of other amazing finds that delight the palate.
Of course, these can also be used as elements for any Japanese-inspired logo.
A bowl of ramen speaks volumes, and a roll of sushi would automatically transport anyone to the Land of the Rising Sun.
Admit it. You have, at one point, wondered whether there were ninjas hiding in every corner in Japan.
But then again, you would never really find out, because that’s exactly what ninjas are good at.
But you can go ahead and make those ninjas visible in the logo you’re working on.
Feel like using something else? Sumo wrestlers are also reminiscent of Japan, and so are samurais.
Flowers and Plants
Cherry blossom trees only bloom once a year, so people flock to Japan to witness how these blooms light up the area.
Bamboo is also something prevalent in Japan, and so are bonsai, those miniature plants that people collect for good luck.
Samurai swords, shuriken, knives – all these weapons used by samurais and ninjas are also used in a lot of Japanese art.
These are elements you can use on a logo that may not be related to weapons, but to strength, fierceness, or anything similar.
There’s something distinct about the way Japanese structures are designed, especially when it comes to their temples and dojos.
The way the roof slopes is truly graceful, making it a great element to use in your logo designs.
