When the medical marijuana bill appeared again as Florida Amendment 2 on November 2016, Morgan was one of the forces behind the ‘Yes’ campaigns. He contributed a whopping $6.5 million in funding towards the campaigns, as well as sponsored numerous radio and television commercials to that effect.
The bill passed this time round after receiving a 71.3% to 28.7% approval rating, with Morgan taking huge credit for his immense contribution towards the cause.
John Morgan is a political activist in his own right. On November 2016, Morgan stated that he was harboring ambitions of running for Governor of Florida in the upcoming 2018 gubernatorial elections. Although he never became Governor of Florida, John Morgan has maintained his role of championing the rights of the socially and economically oppressed. He has pledged to spend at least $1 million in raising Florida’s minimum wage to $15. Through his law firm, Morgan has donated thousands of dollars to the political committee ‘Florida for a Fair Wage.’
John Morgan is the author of two bestselling books. He published his first book in 2011, titled ‘You Can’t Teach Hungry… Creating the Multimillion Dollar Law Firm.’
