Jordan Bernt Peterson is a psychologist, commentator, and author from Canada.
Peterson received initial media attention in the late-2010s for his rather conservative views on sociocultural and political issues. His continued media and public appearances have propelled him further to the limelight, earning him friends and foes in equal measure.
Peterson is a professor. He graduated from the University of Alberta in 1982 with bachelor’s degrees in political science and psychology. He subsequently proceeded to McGill University, where he obtained his Ph.D. in clinical psychology.
Who Is Jordan Peterson Married To?
Jordan Peterson is married to a woman named Tammy Roberts.
Roberts doesn’t hit the headlines as often as her husband does. Nearly all mentions of her online are with regard to her marriage to Jordin.
Tammy Roberts’ Family and Education Background
Tammy Roberts was born on June 3, 1965, in Canada. That makes her 58 years old and three years younger than her husband who was born on June 12, 1962.
Little is known concerning Tammy’s parents and siblings (if any). The same goes for her educational background.
How Long Have Jordan Peterson And Tammy Roberts Been Married For?
Jordan and Tammy tied the knot on August 19, 1989. The couple has remained largely secretive about their love life. That explains why it has been difficult to pinpoint exactly when they began dating and how long they were engaged before walking down the aisle.
However, we can authoritatively report that Peterson and his wife Roberts made each other’s acquaintance when she was only eight years old. In fact, the two grew up together in Fairview, a town situated in the northern region of Alberta, Canada.
Further reports indicate that the couple developed romantic feelings for one another much earlier in their lives. Jordan has since described the experience as a classic case of “love at first sight.” He claimed to have informed his father about his intentions to marry Tammy when he was only 11 years old.
Here’s a nostalgic post that Peterson would later share on his Instagram account, proving that he developed feelings for Roberts right from the get-go. “In grade five, I got glasses, and I was proud of it. So, I asked her what she thought about them, and I was met with this ‘vicious’ answer: ‘You look really funny with those.’ Then she ran into her house. Twenty years later, she confessed to me that she always wanted glasses, and that was her jealousy speaking.
Well, Jordan’s wishes somewhat remained unfulfilled until he was twenty seven years old. Nonetheless, it must have been tremendously ecstatic to finally marry the woman of his youth.

How Has Jordan and Tammy’s Marriage Been Like?
Jordan and Tammy have stuck by each other’s side since saying ‘I do’ more than three decades ago. That’s regardless of Peterson’s demanding career. So, it would be accurate to say that the marriage has been fairly peaceful, occasional ups and downs notwithstanding.
The sheer longevity of Jordan and Tammy’s union has helped bolster his career as a commentator and public speaker. Peterson has been known to offer practical relationship advice, sometimes taking inspiration from his very own marriage. He has shared insights on how to navigate common marital issues, including incessant arguments and sexual dissatisfaction. He has also delved into the value of truth and honesty in relationships, the lack of which he opines can ruin what would have otherwise been a happy ever after.
Do Tammy Roberts and Jordan Peterson Have Children Together?
Tammy and Jordan have two biological children together. The couple’s first child is a daughter named Mikhaila, born on January 4, 1992, in Ontario, Canada. She was named after the last Soviet Union leader Mikhail Gorbachev.
At the tender age of seven, Mikhaila suffered from juvenile rheumatoid arthritis (JRA) which left multiple joints in her body inflamed. She underwent a hip and ankle replacement surgery to correct the condition at the age of 17, and has had her health improve dramatically over the years.
Mikhaila is now a fitness enthusiast with a thriving career as a fitness blogger and dietician. She reportedly follows a carnivorous diet, which she credits for improving her health.
Jordin and Tammy’s second child is a son named Julian, born in 1995. Unlike his sister Mikhaila who became famous for her medical condition, little is known about Julian.
Besides their biological children, the Petersons are also proud foster parents. Tammy has housed dozens of kids from various orphanages in Canada.
Tammy Roberts’ Near Death Experience
In the middle of 2019, Jordan Peterson announced that his wife had been diagnosed with a rare kidney cancer.
Tammy underwent two surgeries. The second procedure damaged her lymphatic system, leading to a rare complication.
The unfortunate turn of events led Jordan to believe his wife wouldn’t recover. However, he stayed by her side, offering the much-needed comfort.
And as fate would have it, Tammy began to recover from both the disease and the surgical complication. Her condition has improved significantly since then.
The sleepless nights Jordan endured while keeping by his wife’s side led to him overdosing on the anti-anxiety drug clonazepam. Fortunately, he has equally recovered after checking into a rehab in New York.
What Has Tammy Roberts Been Up To Lately?
Tammy Roberts has since retired from her various professional engagements, whatever they may have been. She now devotes her full time to supporting her husband’s career.
Tammy plays the role of a caring wife to their children while also offering her husband the much-required emotional support.
