Early Life and Career Information
Kristen Stewart was born into the film industry to parents John Stewart and Jules Mann-Stewart. John Stewart was a television producer and a stage manager, while her mother, Jules Mann-Stewart, was a script supervisor and director.
Growing up in this environment certainly inspired Kristen to enter the industry even though she didn’t set out to become an actress but a writer or director.
Despite her initial reluctance, Kristen began her career at the age of 8, but she appeared in her first film, The Flintstones in Viva Rock Vegas, at age 9. Initially, she attended local schools but later settled for homeschooling when her schedule became too tight.
Even though Kristen first gained attention in 2002 in the movie Panic Room, it certainly did not come easy as many people like to believe; she had to audition for many roles before she could star in the movie Panic room. Panic room earned her a Young Artist Award nomination, but her real breakthrough came at age 14 (2004) in the film Catch That Kid.
As a child/teen actor, she appeared in the movies Undertow, Lila, Speak (a movie about the trauma that comes with sexual assault), Zathura: A Space Adventure, The Messengers, Into the Wild, Jumper, What Just Happened, and Fierce People.
In 2007, she got her widely acclaimed role as Bella in the Twilight series of films based on a novel series of the same name. The role earned her her biggest paycheque, with five movies released in four years (2008-2012).
After Twilight, she reprised roles in smaller films like Clouds of Sils Maria in 2014, Personal Shopper in 2016, Woody Allen in 2016, and she starred in the occasional big franchise movies like Snow White and the Huntsman (2012), Charlie’s Angels reboot (2019) and Underwater (2020). In 2017, she made her directing debut with Come Swim (a short film).
Kristen Stewart’s Net Worth

Even though Kristen Stewart has been acting since she was a child, her most enormous paycheque came when she played Bella Swan in Twilight. She received $2 million for her first Twilight film, and the salary increased exponentially in the final two movies, where she earned $25 million for both films.
Ironically her salary was just a fraction of her total earnings in Twilight. She also earned 7.5% backend from the total box office fees, with both films garnering over $1 billion, estimating her total backend earnings at $115 million. She also made $9.5 million from Snow White and the Huntsman. All these earnings from her long career have contributed to her impressive net worth of $70 million.
Lessons From the Life of Kristen Stewart
Do What Makes You Happy
“Success is always something completely different to people. I feel like I’ve succeeded if I’m doing something that makes me happy, and I’m not lying to anybody. I’m not doing that now, so I feel really good about myself.” ~ Kristen Stewart
Success is subjective, but many people believe that only money makes one successful. Kristen opposes this notion stating that as long as you are happy with what you are doing, you are successful regardless of what anyone thinks.
Own Your Emotions
“It’s okay’, you know? It’s okay to be you. It’s okay to not just be okay. It’s okay to not be okay.” ~Kristen Stewart
In a world where people coerce others to be on their best behavior, Kristen advises people to be themselves anywhere, anytime, as no one is perfect. Most times, keeping in your emotions does more harm than good.
Your Mistakes Do Not Define You
You have to be okay with your own fears. If you’re an honest person, you’ll make mistakes, but that’s when the most interesting things happen. ~Kristen Stewart
Mistakes are a part of life; people make mistakes, but what matters is what is in your heart and how you react once these things happen. Learn from your mistakes and keep moving forward, no matter what.
