Lara has two sisters, Aubrey and Jennifer, and spent her childhood visiting the set of her father’s television series, Full House, which began two years before she was born and ran till 1995.

Lara and Aubrey, her older sister, have been the subject of significant confusion for some reason. Most people confuse them for Identical Twins, but they are not. Aubrey was born two years before Lara.

Lara’s love for art began when she was young, but she decided to take the plunge into her art career when she turned 18. She started her artistic career as a painter before switching to sculpting after being inspired by her professor, Joan Snitzer.

In 2012, she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Art History and Visual Art from Barnard College, Columbia University, New York. Then, in 2018, she got a Masters in Fine and Studio Arts from New York University.

In 2013, Lara and her older sister Aubrey, another talented artist, co-founded an art studio called “Studio 200”. The art studio is a collective of traveling art exhibitions. While Lara and Aubrey have shown their work, the collective shows feature a variety of artists, which means you will see a variety of themes, locations, curation, and media. Studio 200 has a home art gallery in Brooklyn, but because it is a traveling art exhibition, you can find it in a various of locations throughout New York City and Brooklyn.

Lara has had her works shown in selected exhibitions from 2008 till date, including “Venice International Art Fair” for THE ROOM Contemporary Art Space, Italy, in 2021; and “Tg: Transitions in Kiln-Glass,” Bellevue Arts Museum, Washington, in 2022. She has been awarded various awards like the “2017 New York University MFA Artistic Practice Award,” “2017/18 Urban Glass Scholarship Award,” and the “2016 Steinhardt MFA Scholarship Award” among others.

She has worked on many curatorial projects from 2013 till date, including 2013 Interior, Studio 200, New York; 2014 Afterimage, McCagg Gallery, New York; 2013-2016 3 Annual Barnard Student Exhibitions, Barbara Novak Gallery, New York; and 2021 The Breathing Project, The Living Gallery, Brooklyn, NY.

Lessons From The Life Of Lara Saget

Choose Love Always

“I have noticed how scary it can be to love that big, to open so fully. It can be easier to be angry, fearful, negative. Maybe because love has an infinite quality, it is boundless. My dad taught me that it doesn’t matter what life throws, how hard, how painful, how seemingly impossible. It doesn’t stop that love. He chose love, always.” – Lara Saget.

Lara Saget honored her late father, Bob Saget, with a special tribute on Father’s Day about a great lesson she learned from him and is now teaching us. She shows us that as her father has shown her to express herself and always show love, we should also do the same.

The Truth Is Limitless

“My work makes materially visible the limitations of logic. My practice is fueled by the belief that not all facts are absolute. Facts are, more often than not, placeholders for future facts. The deeper the digging, the more exponential reality becomes. The truth is bigger than the brain will ever cognitively understand, it’s limitless.” – Lara Saget.

Another great lesson that can be learned from Lara Saget is understanding that the truth actually is limitless. Her work practically defies the limitations of logic and teaches us to explore the limitations of the truth and expand it.
