After he wakes up from a coma, Westlake escapes from the hospital and discover that the acid burns had numbed his ability to physically feel any sensations, giving him more strength and resistance to pain. With these new abilities, he sets out to confront the mobsters who turned his life upside down and the results are pretty dark superhero stuff.
4. Taken (2008)

Bryan Mills is a security officer but has a background in the CIA and he is also a retired Green Beret. When his estranged teenage daughter is kidnapped by a sex trafficking ring, the kidnappers have no idea what this enraged dad can do.
In the film that boosted Neeson’s visibility as an action star, the story follows Mills as he navigates the seedy and heartbreaking world of human trafficking to find his daughter before she disappears forever.
5. Honest Thief (2020)

Tom Dolan is the “In-and-out bandit,” a bank robber that performed a successful series of heists. But when he falls in love, Dolan realizes that he cannot continue with his life of crime. So he decides to give himself up, hoping for a short sentence and a normal life afterwards.
He confesses to the FBI, who sends two agents to investigate his claim that all the money he stole is being kept at a certain location. But when the agents see the money, greed makes them go rogue and they steal it. Tom has to flee for his life, keep his girlfriend safe and fight for his innocence when the agents pin a murder on him.

In his heyday, Jim Hanson was a United States Marine Corps Scout sniper. But these days he is a Vietnam War veteran and a widower with a heavy drinking problem. He spends his days reporting illegal border crossings to the border patrol but one day when he catches a mother and son trying to enter the country, he is drawn into a shootout with cartel members following the pair.
After the mother is killed, Hanson is left with the boy, Miguel, and he decides to take him to the woman’s family in Chicago. After stealing Miguel back from border control agents, they set off on a road trip to reunite the kid with his family. But the journey becomes increasingly dangerous when Hanson realizes that they are being pursued by cartel members and corrupt police officials alike.
7. The Ice Road (2021)

Mike McCann and his brother Gurty are two rough truckers. One day, they get into a brawl with other truckers and as a result, the McCanns are fired. When Mike learns that ice truckers are needed to transport critical equipment to rescue trapped miners, the brothers take the dangerous job.
But the job turns out to be more lethal than they could ever have imagined. Some of the truckers in their convoy are part of the mine sabotage and they will stop at nothing to prevent the delivery. Mike has to fight for his own survival and the lives of the men trapped in the mine.
8. Schindler’s List (1993)

Based on a remarkable true story, the movie follows the attempts of Oskar Schindler, a German factory owner who devised a plan to save as many Jews as he could from World War II death camps. After he witnesses an entire ghetto of Jewish families massacred, he steps up his efforts to save more people.
Schindler uses an ingenious approach of bribery and friendly relationships with Nazi officials, despite being horrified by their personal depravity and brutality towards Jewish captives. Schindler mainly “hired” Jewish prisoners from camps to work at his factories to prevent them from being killed, convincing the SS that Jewish slave labor in his munitions business was necessary to win the war.
9. Non-Stop (2014)

When US Marshall Bill Marks boards a plane, he is in for a tough ride. During the flight, he gets an anonymous text message claiming that a passenger will die every 20 minutes unless millions are paid into the blackmailer’s bank account. At first, Marks is uncertain about the whole thing but then his partner and the pilot die.
Marks has to act quickly to find the killer on board the plane but nothing is what it seems and not everyone appreciates his claims about a blackmailer only he seems to be in contact with. The passengers and authorities believe that Marks is the highjacker. The real mastermind, however, is still there and hell-bent on taking the plane down.
