Torrence Hatch, widely known as Lil Boosie or Boosie Badazz, is an American rapper. He started his life on the wild streets of Baton Rouge in Southeast Louisiana, United States. Despite the negative influences in his early life, he made a name for himself at the top.
Boosie started as a rapper in 1990 as a hip-hop collective Concentration camp member. His debut album was released in 2000, entitled Youngest of da camp. He went ahead to release several albums. In 2009, he released his second major album, “Superbad: The Return of Boosie Bad Azz,” and launched his debut record label-Bad AZZ Entertainment- later renamed Bad Azz Music Syndicate.
The famous rapper has also collaborated with other hip-hop rappers such as C-murder, Webbie, Three Six Mafia, etc., and has contributed to several mixtapes and albums.
Boosie is also a songwriter, singer, and actor. He has acted in movies like Last Dayz, On the grind, Ghetto series: The movie, etc. Hatch’s debut movie, My Struggle, premiered on September 22, 2021, at Riverside EPICenter in Atlanta, Georgia. The movie centered on the rapper’s personal and professional life.
He was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes during his childhood and has since suffered from several health issues. On November 25, 2015, he was also diagnosed with kidney cancer which was treated after a successful surgery.
Torrence Ivy Hatch, nicknamed by his parents as Lil Boosie, officially changed his name to Boosie Badazz on October 20, 2014.

Early Life and Career Information
On November 14, 1982, Lil Boosie was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, United States. As a child, he was fascinated by basketball and poetry. He did better at basketball and, in 1997, won an award at his school for the most improved player. His mother was a retired school teacher, and his father was a drug addict.
The death of his father, Raymond Hatch, in 1996 influenced him to utilize his poetry skills in the music industry. He then began to seek out a successful career as a rapper. At 14, he became a member of the Concentration Camp group after his cousin, Young Dee, introduced him to C-Loc.
He began to rap in some of the camp’s songs and, later on, released his first solo album, Youngest of da Camp, in the year 2000. The following year, he left Concentration camp and joined Pimp C’s Trill Entertainment, where he released For My Thugz, his second studio album in 2002.
So far, Boosie has released ten studio albums, seven solo studio albums, twenty-two singles, seven collaborative albums, and forty-two mixtapes. He has worked with Atlantic Records, Bad Azz Music Syndicate, Empire Distribution, and Warner records. Some of his hit singles and the years they were released are: Independent (2008), Wipe me down (2006), Zoom(2006), Better believe (2009), and Show da world (2014).
Lil Boosie was sentenced to four years in prison on drug and gun charges in 2009. The following year, he was on trial for first-degree murder charges and sentenced to ten years on multiple drug possession charges. He launched his fourth studio album titled “Incarcerated” during his time in prison.
It was later discovered that Lil Boosie was, in fact, innocent of the murder charge against him and had been set up by informants. On March 5, 2014, he got out after serving five years in prison.

Lil Boosie’s father died when he was only 14. Additionally, he grew up in one of the wildest neighborhoods in Louisiana and eventually went to jail in 2009. Despite all these negatives, he rose high enough to successfully create a legacy in the music industry and a $5 million net worth.
