Maniscalco reminisced on his first encounter with Gomez during a September 2015 episode of The Fighter and The Kid podcast. Apparently, the comedian was able to convince his personal trainer to schedule a training session right after Lana. His aim was to have their training hours coincide so he could use the opportunity to pick up on her.
Maniscalco properly groomed himself as part of his effort to leave a lasting impression on his potential future wife. He took a shower, gelled his hair, and applied baby oil before the scheduled meeting.
