On a daily basis we might get pissed at little unfortunate mishaps like dropping our ice cream, Youtube restrictions, low battery on your phone, and so on. However we don’t stop and think about how many people are currently having a situations that’s 1000% worse than ours. Take cancer as an example…. I’m pretty sure it’s way worse that stepping on a piece of gum with your new shoes. Right? I sure hope so.
Byron Galan runs and manages a typographic/graphic design inspiration website called Betype.co. His mom, Maria Esther, is battling against uterine cancer in a very advance stage. Byron is from El Salvador. Like any average family in this country they run into economic problems like struggling to pay the rent and normal things like keeping food on the table. This shocking news made it very difficult to come up with money for her treatments, since they’re already in debt.
Byron decided to use his skills and create a set of posters to promote his Indiegogo campaign. With this campaign he hopes to fundraise money to help his mom with her treatments. By making a contrast of concepts, he decided to use funny simple icons to capture the viewers attention.
