Death isn’t something we talk about often and is still considered a bit of a taboo topic of conversation. But, maybe we should be thinking about what will happen when the time inevitably comes?
According to new data, almost two-thirds (65%) of people in the UK have not written a will, leaving their estate and other assets on rather uncertain territory. This data comes from a survey carried out by online will experts; Beyond, who wanted to find out more about the UK’s attitudes towards wills.
It seems as though there is still a lot of anxiety around talking about death, more so in women, as twice as many women as men cited anxiety over death as the reason they haven’t yet written a will.
The survey revealed a number of interesting reasons as to why so many people in the UK haven’t written a will. On the other hand, those of whom have got a will in a place open up about the sorts of things they would leave in their wills and who they would leave things to.
