Life is full of ups and downs. Today you can be the happiest person in the world, and tomorrow you can be the most miserable. It’s the unpredictability of life that makes it worthwhile. It’s what makes us strive to be better. It’s what makes us chase happiness in every form possible. And when life gets a little difficult or hard to bear, it’s comforting to know that there are still ways that can brighten up our day. Reading a positive quote is one of these methods. It may seem trivial or superfluous, but unless you’ve been touched or motivated by it, you won’t really know the power of a positive quote.

Optimistic quotes are everywhere. Motivational quotation posters are often plastered at school and office halls. A “quote of the day” is ever-present on various websites and online forums. Even journals and calendars are embossed with quotations that aim to inject positivity and wisdom. These positive quotes are prevalent to give the readers a boost of confidence, motivation, and drive to face the day with a winning attitude.

“Breathe. It’s just a bad day, not a bad life.” This is one positive quote I always read and put into mind whenever I’m having a lousy or miserable day. That tomorrow will be less difficult drives me to spend the rest of the day with a firmer attitude, a stronger spirit. It’s a positive quote that does not just brighten up my day, but also, time and time again, makes me realize that whatever negative feeling or thought I’m feeling at the moment isn’t going to last forever. And when you think about it, when you realize that the struggle or pain or difficulty is but fleeting, nothing will be out of reach and nothing will be too hard to achieve.

Positive quotes have been thoroughly studied and researched by the experts over the years. Through studies, physiologists have learned that people who read a positive quote daily have had a positive outlook in life. These people have also grown to like the tasks they do every day. With these optimistic thoughts, a person gets to control his emotions and thoughts to fight whatever struggle or negativity the day brings.

So the next time you see a positive quote posted online or along the hallway, stop for a second, read the quotation, savor it, and let it put a smile on your face. To help you get started, here are 40 awesome quotes that will surely brighten up your day.
