Veteran television producer and screenwriter Eric Weinberg faces up to eighteen rape and sexual assault charges involving at least five women. Reports from investigations (which are still ongoing) indicate that the “Scrubs” producer used his Hollywood credentials to lure unsuspecting women for photo shoots, during which he allegedly subjected them to untold sexual assaults.
Most of the incidents reportedly happened between 2014 and 2019, although investigators believe that Weinberg’s victims may date as far back as the 1990s.
Interestingly, Eric Weinberg was a married man. Weinberg had been married for about two decades despite all the sexual assault allegations leveled against him.

Eric Weinberg is an American television producer and screenwriter who is facing over 100 years in jail if convicted of the 18 sexual assault charges he’s currently being investigated for.
Weinberg achieved widespread recognition for his role on the television series ‘Scrubs.’ He served as co-executive producer of the series’ 100+ episodes. The University of Pennsylvania graduate is also credited for writing the screenplay for as well as serving as executive producer of the 2005 made-for-television film ‘Confessions of a Dog.’
Weinberg has produced and written the screenplay for many other television series. These include the comedy series Graves, comedy-drama series Californication, and the sitcom Veronica’s Closet. Others are the animated sitcoms ‘American Dad, ‘Wilfred,’ Party Girl,’ and ‘Too Something,’ as well as the late-night political talk show ‘Politically Incorrect.’

Little is known about Eric Weinberg’s personal life. But when sexual harassment accusations against him first came to the fore, people began digging into his relationship and marital affairs. It turns out that Weinberg was once married to a woman named Hilary Bidwell.
There’s almost no information on Bidwell to go on. Not only was she largely unknown before her husband’s sordid past came to the limelight. But she seems to have faded even deeper into obscurity after Weinberg was formally charged with rape.
According to several outlets, Hilary Bidwell and Eric Weinberg tied the knot in 2001. The couple remained together until 2020 when Bidwell filed for divorce from his disgraced husband.
Why Did Hilary Bidwell Divorce From Her Husband?
Eric Weinberg’s inappropriate behavior with minors has been cited as the cause for his separation from ex-wife Hilary Bidwell.
Suspicion began mounting in 2008 when Bidwell allegedly found a handwritten log of women’s names, their locations, and routines inside Weinberg’s golf bag.
Weinberg confirmed being in possession of the said list. However, he vehemently refuted any ill motive and insisted these were merely records from the days he worked as a headshot photographer. His defense attorneys issued a statement in the wake of the allegations saying, “The claims have previously been investigated and reviewed by both law enforcement and the LA family court and the results have continued to unveil a myriad of evidence, documentation and expert analysis that wholly undermine the narrative now being promulgated.
But this wasn’t the only time Bidwell suspected her husband of inappropriate sexual behavior with minors.
In 2017, Bidwell claimed to have been contacted by an anonymous woman accusing Weinberg of being inappropriate with her 17-year-old daughter. Apparently, Weinberg had invited the minor for breakfast and attempted to unzip her sweater. In his defense, Weinberg claimed the girl lied about her age.
There was yet another instance in 2019 when Weinberg approached a 16-year-old girl in a Starbucks and tried to lure her into taking nude photos of her. He was reportedly fiercely persistent despite the girl’s opposition. The news would later reach Bidwell and Weinberg’s eldest son, who attended the same school as the girl.
Hilary Bidwell continued looking for evidence of her husband’s sexual misconduct after filing for divorce from him. Her search led her to a Facebook post shared by Claire Wilson in 2020 in which Wilson accused Weinberg of sexually assaulting her after they connected via OkCupid and cautioned women against him. To Bidwell’s surprise, many commenters on the post recounted their own ugly encounters in the hand of the screenwriter.
Does Eric Weinberg Have Any Children?
Weinberg reportedly has three children. However, their names and identities are unknown.
It’s also yet to be established if the kids were born during his marriage with Hilary Bidwell or from his previous relationships.
Where Is Eric Weinberg Right Now?
Eric Weinberg was first arrested in 2014 following sexual assault allegations leveled against him by then-22-year-old Kayra Raecke. Raecke told the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) that Weinberg raped her during a photo shoot at his residence in Los Feliz. The assault allegedly happened when Raecke was only 16 years old. However, prosecutors declined to press charges at the time.
Weinberg would later be arrested on July 14, 2022 and formally charged with sexual assault. At least five women identified as Jane Does have since come forward to accuse the screenwriter of similar charges, bringing his charge sheet to 18 counts. He was initially released in lieu of $3.5- million bail but was rearrested on Oct. 4, 2022 and had his bail increased to $5 million.
