‘A spouse after your own heart’ isn’t only someone who makes your heart skip a beat. The phrase may also denote a partner in the general career or profession as you.
Well, that’s pretty much the case with Jon Rahm and his wife. In this article, we look at the pro golfer’s adorable family, with a special focus on his lovely spouse.
Who Is Jon Rahm?
Jon Rahm Rodríguez is a Spanish professional golfer who hails from the Basque Country in Spain.
Rahm has achieved tremendous feats during his career, including commanding the number one position in the World Amateur Golf Ranking for a record 60 weeks. He later won the Memorial Tournament in July 2020 and subsequently rose to the number one spot in the Official World Golf Rankings.
Rahm’s other noteworthy achievements include becoming the first Spanish golfer in history to win the U.S. Open. The Basque Country native won the Masters Tournament in 2023, his second major championship so far.
Who Is Jon Rahm Married To?
Jon Rahm is married to Kelley Cahill.
Cahill may have risen to prominence as Rahm’s wife. But like her husband, she is a sports star who has had interests in athletics from her early childhood.
Cahill is a two-star tennis recruit who has pursued the sport as her primary profession. Her sporting background played an instrumental role in shaping her into the talented tennis player she is today. Besides tennis, she also competed in javelin throw and boxing, mostly for Arizona State University.
Kelley Cahill’s Early Life
Kelley Cahill was born on February 23, 1994, in Lake Oswego, Oregon. She’s 29 years old as of 2023, a few months older than her husband who was born on November 10, the same year.
Kelley spent much of her childhood in her home town of Lake Oswego. She was raised with her parents Rob and Nancy Cahill, alongside at least one sibling named Marty.
Kelley Cahill’s Education Background
Kelley Cahill graduated from Chaparral High School. She later enrolled for a degree program at Arizona State University (ASU), where she eventually graduated with a major in biology.
Kelley Cahill’s Career Information
As previously mentioned, Kelley Cahill became interested in sports right from her childhood. However, it was not until her high school years that she began to explore her athletic passion earnestly.
Cahill won several accolades while playing tennis for Chaparral High School. She notably posted a 3-6 record during her high school tennis career.
Kelley’s sporting ambitions only grew stronger when she proceeded to college. While attending Arizona State University, Cahill also ventured into track and field in addition to tennis. She managed to split her time effectively between studying and playing for the ASU track and field team. She was one of the school’s most dependable players and competed in javelin throwing under the school moniker ‘the Sun Devils.’
Kelley’s best career-high throw was 34.92 meters, a feat she achieved at the ASU Invitational in 2013. She later secured the 8th rank after recording a 33.49 meters throw in the 2014 Invitational.
Cahill’s javelin throwing skills enabled her to also excel at football throwing. Her husband has since shared several video footage captured in 2017 of her remarkable football-throwing prowess on his social media accounts. Rahm has gone as far as to publicly confess that he cannot match his wife’s throwing abilities.
When Did Cahill And Rahm Meet?
Jon Rahm and Kelley Cahill met at Arizona State University. They both attended ASU for their college education, where Rahm had joined on a golf scholarship. And while there, they were both instrumental members of the school’s various sporting teams. But while Cahill’s interest was in tennis and track & field, Rahm gravitated towards golf.
In an interview with Golf Digest, Jon Rahm revealed why he probably opted for golf as opposed to javelin throw, one of her then future wife’s main sports. He said, “You have to rely on overhand strength, and as a golfer, that’s not something I have. She has a lot more overhand strength than I do. And I didn’t want to injure myself.”
Kelley and Rahm’s relationship dates back to at least February 2016, as this was the first time she appeared on his Instagram account. The golfer posted a photo of the young couple hanging out together at his first Super Bowl.
However, in later interviews, Jon Rahm revealed that he cannot exactly recall when they officially began dating at ASU but suggested that their first meeting was at a Halloween party. The pro golfer also indicated that the couple’s common love for margaritas and dining in general endeared them closer to each other.
When Did Cahill And Rahm Become Engaged?
Jon Rahm proposed to Kelley Cahill in June 2018, over two years after being together. The proposal came right before Rahm competed in the 2018 U.S. Open. To make the occasion more realistic and memorable, the pro golfer proposed using an elegant ring that he designed himself.
But as he would reveal in later interviews, Rahm wasn’t nervous when he popped the question to Cahill. He reckoned their relationship had grown so tremendously that she couldn’t say no. Nonetheless, he was elated when she said yes.
When Did Rahm And Cahill Tie The Knot?
Rahm and Cahill married on December 13, 2019. The wedding ceremony took place at the golfer’s childhood church in his hometown of Bilbao, Spain.

On August 5, 2022, the Rahms were yet again blessed with a bouncing baby boy. Baby Eneko Cahill Rahm was also born days before his dad competed in a major golf event – the first round of the FedEx Cup Playoffs.
