The Ultimate Showdown: Geeks vs. Nerds [INFOGRAPHIC]

Are you a geek or a nerd? Did you know that there is a difference? There are many differences as this graphic will explain. You’ll finally be able to determine if you truly are a geek or a nerd – or maybe even both! We may never be able to settle the ultimate battle of which is better, but at least you’ll know where you stand.

Some people think the words geek and nerd mean the same thing, but that’s not the case. There are distinct differences.

Nerds can have a wide variety of interests and are typically extremely textbook-y smart. They’re usually the PC users and are very into science, gaming and computer programming and could probably write a book on any topic that interests them. They are not very social and tend to be introverted, but they do hang out with fellow nerds.

Geeks are usually Mac people and focus in on their chosen interests and become the authority on the topic. They love their gadgets and iconic t’s and are happy to tell you everything they know about their hobbies. And they will know absolutely everything.

  1. Haha! This is great! Thanks for sharing it.

  2. There doesn’t seem too much difference between the two except that the term “geek” is more socially preferred than the word “nerd”. How about the shyness of each? The infographic did not say.

  3. Delotna says:

Pinning the Mac as a Geek device is so wrong. Its is in most cases the exact opposite.
